What’s New?
The 2017 Monarch Monitoring season kicks off this
month. Volunteers will help survey milkweed for all
the stages of a Monarch butterfly’s life cycle. These
citizen scientists will contribute information to better
understand Monarch populations throughout the
West. Find out more on next page!
Cheers! Another fantastic field trip season in the books! We
cannot express how thankful we are to have such
wonderful people in our community who take time
to help teach kids about
birds, bugs, water quality,
and animal tracks! Many
thanks to Jodi, Steve, Jon,
Bob, Michael, Cathy S.,
Cathy E., Nicole, Cindy,
Linda, KC, Ron, Pat, Doug,
Barb, Carolyn, Sophia,
Josiah, Karen, Amanda,
Andrea, and Jan for being
phenomenal educators
this year! We definitely couldn't
have taught all those hundreds of
students without your help.
Around the Water Cooler Mia, one of our Environmental Educators, is
switching from field trip to summer day camp
mode. This quick change in gears requires
research and planning, but our enthusiastic
educator remains in good spirits, “I’m excited for
our day camps. They are a lot of fun!” Make sure
your kiddos are signed up for one of our free
camps this summer. Slots are filling up fast!
(And...we’re still looking for a few good day camp
volunteers!)
