effi ciency. The quality of the indoor environment, in addition to a health issue for its occupants is also a factor of productivity and performance.

In parallel with the new buildings with low energy consumption or nearly zero energy consumption, refur-bishment of the existing stock is the major challenge of today and tomorrow. Besides the aspects of development of innovative technologies, experience feedback, improving the existing performance guarantee, maintenance and operation will be raised.

To discuss about all the issues and techniques that underlie, the Mediterranean engineer associations organize a biennial congress CLIMAMED.

To provide answers to these challenges, AICVF, the French Association of Engineers in Climate, Ventilation and Refrigeration organizes jointly with AICARR Italy, APIRAC Portugal, ATECYR Spain and TTMD Turkey its 8th Mediterranean Congress CLIMAMED with the main scope:

SUSTAINABLE ENERGY PERFORMANCE OF BUILDINGS

In addition to the presence of international speakers we will organize a series of workshops, some of which specifi cally dedicated to specifi c aspects of the renovation of the existing fi nancing and real estate. Education, training and the development of regulations will also be actively involved in these workshops.

Endorsed by ASHRAE, REHVA and IBPSA, CLIMAMED 2015 shall be a productive forum, where engineers, architects, designers and manufacturers alike can share information and expertise.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we invite you to join Antibes Juan-les Pins for the 2015 edition of CLIMAMED.

Bertrand MONTMOREAU President of CLIMAMED 2015

Francis ALLARDPresident of the International Scientifi c Committee

WELCOME!It is our great pleasure to invite you to CLIMAMED 2015, the leading Mediterranean scientifi c and engineering congress in the fi eld of Heating, Ventilation, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration that will take place at the Congress Center of Antibes Juan-les-Pins, French Riviera (Nice) France 10 - 11 September 2015.

Today, heating, ventilation and air conditioning are taking an important part of the total energy consumption of the buildings in our world. In order to tackle the steadily increase of energy consumption the use of renewable energy is a must. Harnessing renewable energy sources is crucial to limit the proliferation of greenhouse gas emissions. In parallel, to limit energy consumption buildings are better and better insulated and air tight. Nevertheless buildings are not meant to save energy but to bring comfort, health and safety to the occupants whatever their destination. Experts consider that indoor environment quality is at least as important as energy
