The search includ- ed Texas Parks & Wildlife game war- dens from Bastrop and Washington counties, DPS troopers, Somer- ville and Birch Creek volunteer firefight- ers, a CHI St. Joseph Health Burleson am- bulance crew, PHI Air Med 7, who conducted a search from the air, Washington County’s air unit and the U.S. Army Corps of Engi- neers. Somerville firefight- ers had two boats in the water, and game wardens and sher- iff’s deputies, using one boat each, also searched throughout the night, Pollock said. Pollock said side so- nar and down scan so- nars were used during the search. Burleson County Pct. 4 Justice of the Peace Robert Urbanosky pronounced her dead at the scene. Sweeney’s body was transported to the Travis County Medi- cal Examiner’s Office in Austin where an au- topsy was performed, Pollock said. Pollock said on Tuesday, July 21, that the results on a cause of death were still pending. It was the second drowning in just a two-month span at the lake. A Sealy man also drowned in May after getting off a boat into the lake and did not resurface, local offi- cials said in May. Local emergency responders and U.S. Army Corps of Engi- neers officials have long warned that life preservers are es- sential when getting into the water at Lake Somerville, even for good swimmers. Sweeney was em- ployed with Celebrity Spa & Salon in Bryan, and friends and co- workers remembered a special person. Sarah Quisenberry, a friend and co-worker, said “very few times in life will you experi- ence a person who can leave such an impres- sion on everyone they meet.” “Paige was hard work, determination, perseverance, joy and grace all put together in one beautiful hu- man being,” Quisen- berry said. Amanda Harmon, another friend and co-worker, said she recalled a bright smile that was contagious, “and her jokes that made others laugh.” “It was also funny that after she would tell a joke, she would laugh,” Harmon said. “Her faith was strong, and she loved her kiddos. When oth- ers asked how many children she had, she would always say three. She always in- cluded her stepdaugh- ter Maddie along with Braxton and Norah. She was a special gem.” In a Facebook post, Celebrity Spa & Sa- lon stated: “Taken too soon, Paige is now an angel in heaven, and those of us who are missing her dearly can rest assured in this fact.” at an unsafe speed, drove to the right side of the road, over cor- rected across the cen- ter line, went into the opposite bar ditch and collided with a tree, said Caldwell DPS Sgt. Justin Stohler. Due to fire damage, it is unknown at this time if the truck hit the tree head-on or broadside, Stohler said. Stohler said the truck caught on fire, and Mosley died inside the wreckage. Stohler said Mosley was traveling alone, and it is unknown whether he was wear- ing a seat belt. The Caldwell Volun- teer Fire Department was dispatched to the scene, extinguished the fire and used tools to recover Mosley’s body after the fire was extin- guished, said Caldwell Fire Chief David Peve- house. The fire also spread to the tree and to some nearby grass, but fire- fighters were able to extinguish it, he said. A CHI St. Joseph Health Burleson Hos- pital ambulance crew was dispatched to the scene, along with Bur- leson County Sheriff’s Investigator Caleb Ste- phens, Caldwell Police Sgt. Paul Briden and Officers Coleman Deck- er and Kaleb Hairston, Stohler said. Stohler said DPS Trooper Zach Gibson is investigating the cause of the crash. Woman injured in F.M. 166 accident A 35-year-old Center- ville woman was in a single car accident on Thursday, July 16, on F.M. 3058 near F.M. 166. The accident occurred around 3:45 p.m. when Bonnie Brown, travel- ing westbound on F.M. 166 in a 2007 black Dodge Ram 1500 pick- up, failed to stay in a single lane and trav- eled into the right side ditch and collided with a fence, according to report by DPS Trooper Zachary Gibson. Brown continued trav- eling west on F.M. 166 before turning south on F.M. 3058, the report said. She then failed to drive in a single lane and drifted into the east side ditch, travel- ing parallel to the fence line, the report said. The truck collided with a concrete cul- vert, sustaining front end damage, the report said. The truck then en- tered a driver-side skid in the ditch, overturned and came to a rest fac- ing north on the driver’s side door, Gibson’s re- port said. The truck sustained front end damage and left and right side roll- over damage, the report said. Brown was transport- ed to Bryan CHI St. Joseph by ambulance with non-incapacitating injuries, the report said. 596-145 METAL BUILDING SPECIALIST THORNBERRY DR. & AVE.
