WINCHESTER WEEKLY
October 24, 2016
Upcoming Key Dates • Wednesday 10/26 – Parent ALICE Training @ Winchester 6:30pm • Monday 10/31 – Halloween Parade 2:15 PM
Thank you from the PTA Thank you for your support of the Invest in Your Child fundraiser! We were able to get our amazing programs up and running for the 2016-2017 school year! This is PTA's biggest fundraiser this year! You can join the PTA or donate at any time if you haven't already. There are envelopes in the office. * Money we spend comes DIRECTLY from "Invest in Your Child" Fundraiser. * "Invest in Your Child" fully funds many curriculum enhancing programs here at Winchester * You can donate and join the PTA at any time during the year! * Teachers who join our PTA are given a set amount of funds to spend in their classroom to benefit our children! Please see the attached letter to see much more that your donations do for Winchester and You! Thank you again, we are so lucky to have so many generous families. Your support is what makes Winchester such a great school! NEW PROCEDURE for Parent/Teacher Conferences Sometime next week, classroom teachers will be sharing a link with you to sign up for a time slot for Parent/Teacher conferences via Sign-Up Genius. The link will go live as of October 27th at 6:30PM You will be able to access the link if it is shared with you prior to that date, but you will not be able to sign up for a time slot until October 27th at 6:30 PM when the link goes live.
HALLOWEEN Halloween is just around the corner. We would like to remind our families of the expectations of appropriate costume dress. Children can be creative and have fun, but NO COSTUME CAN HAVE TOY WEAPONS. Also, costumes need to be comfortable and children must be able to dress themselves. Given recent events, we are respectfully asking adults NOT TO WEAR A CLOWN COSTUME. Also, if a parent dresses up, faces MUST be visible (no mask/face paint). This is for security reasons. PAL (Parents at Lunch) Needs Your Help!
Looking for a quick & easy way to volunteer at school? Well, here you go!! We are in need of helpers in the lunchroom and playground. Hours are 11:45-12:45 and you can sign up for whatever days work for your schedule. The students enjoy seeing parents, at lunch and on the playground! Sign up today! http://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080845aaab29a64-pal/1341124

SAVE THE DATE: The Fall Social is Coming! – HELP NEEDED!!! Please save the date for the Fall Social; Friday 11/4 5:30-8:30pm Parents: I need some help! The Fall Social is a huge event that takes a lot of planning. We are so lucky to have students from NHS volunteering the night of the event to work all the stations. But I could use some help getting ready for the big night! I need volunteers to oversee the games, the cake walk, the food and the prizes. Much of this is already done, I just need someone to coordinate the logistics and oversee the students working the night of the event. If you can help, please let me know! Thanks, Holly Jones [email protected]

The sport of jumping rope is a fun, physical activity that helps improve coordination and balance. Our staff is comprised of some of the best jumpers in the nation. Some who are National & World Champions and some who have been featured on ABC’s
America’s Got Talent & the recent War Room movie. The Jumpin AllStars, a competitive/performance jump rope team would like to invite Boys and Girls ages 6 and older to join them October 29th to learn jump rope techniques for single rope, double dutch and more. We’ll assess each jumper’s skills to ensure everyone will be
challenged throughout the day. This workshop is all about fun and fitness. It’s a great event for those brand new to jump rope or those who are experienced jumpers. No
experience needed to participate. A jump rope and snack store will be available throughout camp. To learn more or to register online please visit our website at
