Attendance Matters We know regular attendance at school can have a meaningful impact on student wellbeing and academic achievement, as well as creating a foundation for future success. Did you know?

State AFL Carnival Last week I had the opportunity to sit down with Jai Park and ask him about his experience at the AFL Carnival in Byron Bay. Jai said he really enjoyed training and competing at this level and really valued the feedback from his coaches. The team finished 7th overall. One of his favourite things was the recovery swim in the ocean following competition. If Jai had to sum up the experience in one word it would be: AWESOME! Netball News

The date for our Round 2 netball game against North is Wednesday 26th May, starting at 9:30am. Wishing our netballers all the best and know they will enjoy this experience. Thank you to Miss Liefting and Miss Sutton for their support of the team.

The Library News

This Wednesday 19th May, our school is celebrating the National Simultaneous Storytime 2021. Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools and bookshops to over 1 MILLION kids across Australia and New Zealand. NASA Astronaut Dr Shannon Walker will read ‘Give me some Space!’ from the International Space Station! The author Philip Bunting values the importance of reading as an activity that allows us to see things from new perspectives. “The more you read, the more you know. The more you know, the more you wonder. The more you wonder, the more wonderful life becomes…” All teachers and students have been invited to follow the links and join children all over Australia for this special initiative. It will be out of this world! Dr Shannon Walker (born June 4, 1965) is an American physicist and a NASA astronaut selected in 2004. She launched on her first mission into space on June 25, 2010 onboard Soyuz TMA-19 and spent over 163 days in space. Dr Shannon Walker enjoys soccer, running, weight training, flying, camping and travel! She is married to a fellow NASA astronaut, Australian- born Andy Thomas.
