Sponsors and Users
Sponsors are a big part of VMUG and they usually will provide meals, drinks, or door prizes in exchange for presentation time or site presence at our meetings.
Sponsors cannot run a VMUG meeting nor do they have direct access to VMUG members information.
What is a Sponsor – simply put – if you work for a company that sells, supports, or consults – IT based software / hardware, or services then you’re a sponsor and not a user.
Questions - Sponsors should contact [email protected] or become a partner at http://www.vmware.com/partners/programs/
Sponsors and Users
What if someone approaches me about their services?
All Sponsors should have a ribbon just below their name tag. This ribbon should read SPONSOR.
If you are approached by a person not wearing this ribbon please let us know.

Special Keynote Session in June!
We are working out the details to have a major publisher and the authors of a vSphere Technical book to be at our next VMUG Meeting.
The authors will be present to discuss the highlights and answer some Q&A but we will be giving away copies of their book too.
Looking Back...
Phoenix VMUG was re-founded on 05/30/20081st Event Drew about 50 Users, now ~300 users
Common Event lasted about 4 hours, now all dayIn the early days sponsors really pushed the content that you see..Quickly we realized that users really want Peer to Peer interaction and our sponsors really need to start presenting technical content not just sales pitches..
The Phoenix VMUG Leaders start to push this..
Fast Forward...
After 2 years of asking sponsors to present more technical content we’ve made some progress...
Though their presentations do sometimes get better, some of them lack the content we’re looking for...
This is where we NEED your help...
It’s time to send a clear message to the sponsors...
Please pull out your survey from your bags…
Time to get Involved!
The survey you hold in your hands is a way for us to send a clear message about content.
Please fill out your survey and turn it in at the front desk…
When you do so you’ll get a 4GB USB stick…
You can turn this in at anytime... (Except for right now...)
Next 2 Sessions..
- VMWARE Updates
- Keynote World Wide Technologies – Best Practices: An Open Discussion
Then to a 15 Minute Break…
