Born Danny

Chung and raised in Philadelphia, Decipher experienced more ups and

downs in his youth than many go through in a life time. To call his family broken would be a huge understate-

ment. Conceived by a woman he would grow up calling “aunt” and a man that may have fathered him but

was never a father, his biological mother was left with no choice but to give him up to be raised by her sister.

In addition to all the family drama came financial struggles as well. He saw first hand how hard his immigrant

parents struggled for that slice of American Pie as they worked their way out of the ghetto only to find the

taste was fleeting and bittersweet. Incidentally, his newfound life of hard-earned luxury wasn’t meant to

last. It appeared lady luck held a grudge against the Chung clan, and before you could say ‘Good Life’ it was

straight back to the ‘Hood Life’ for them all.

Despite the tumultuous drama and turmoil, Decipher was able to find the one thing that remained steady

in his life. Thanks to an uncle that moonlighted as a party DJ, he got his first introduction to a music that

served as the voice for a people that needed to be heard because no one else could speak for them.

Young Decipher had discovered Hip-Hop. The renaissance of this genre in the early 90′s served as the

aural back drop that shaped and inspired him to understand the power of true honest expression. It

wasn’t too long before he realized that the very voices blaring through the headphones of his walkman

weren’t just those of the musical artists; they were also his voice. These MC’s weren’t just speaking to

him, they were speaking for him. This epiphany helped him to realize his life should no longer imitate

art, rather it should create it. He had found his identity and it enabled him to stand firm in the midst of

the twists and turns he was constantly experiencing.

Even when starting off as a battle MC, it was immediately apparent that he possessed undeniable

raw talent. Decipher not only had the requisite wit and charisma, but more importantly he had

the heart to turn ordinary words into a powerful message. It should be no surprise that he quickly

found himself in the company of other like-minded artists. After linking up with Johnnyphlo and

the independent label Treble & Bassment, Decipher worked hard to share his voice, releasing criti-

cally acclaimed mix tapes and albums while collaborating with some of the best Asian American

talent such as Ailee, Andrew Choi, Chan, and Shogunna. Fast forward to the present, Decipher is

now with MuZo Entertainment, the spiritual successor to TnB; and he continues his mission to

make sure he is heard. Just as the Hip-Hop MCs of yesteryear provided a constant influence that

shaped his identity, Decipher aims to do the same for today’s alienated Asian Americans who

also struggle to find their place in a society where there are too few voices to properly represent

them. Decipher speaks for anyone tired of having big media America dubbing over them like a

bad kung-fu flick and is here to provide the raw audio track where subtitles arenot necessary.

Because now he isn’t just speaking to us, he’s speaking for us.

Bio:

.. Himothy da first is truly the first of his kind. His unique name parallels a unique flow that he developed at a

young age and perfected while incarcerated. While its true that Himothy spent most of his days around hardened

criminals winning numerous talent shows in prison, don’t think for a second that he can be categorized as anoth-

er gangsta rapper lacking real lyrical skills and profound thought in his music. With an intense street work ethic

Himothy has created a buzz in the streets and his reputation as a serious player in the entertainment industry

has spread like wildfire since his release. His appearance on the Come Up Show with Cosmic Kev on Power 99 FM

(the largest hip-hop show in the nation) in Philly only added fuel to the fire. He has co-produced tracks with plati-

num selling producer Junius Bervine. He has worked on tracks with artists such as Gillie Da Kid of Major Figgaz,

Oschino and Peedi Crack of State Property, E-Ness, and Ab-Liva of the Re-Up Gang, Joey Jihad, Meek Millz, Wacko

from the hit song “Nolia Clap” ft. Juvenile, Mike Knox and The Ape Gang. Himothy was featured on the remix to the

hit single “Get Down On The Ground” a track that became an anthem for the tri-state area. Himothy’s clear ability

to recognize a hit when he hears one and his natural ability with a pen and a pad makes him the most valuable

asset to his record label Bredwinaz Ent. as the CEO and first artist of the label. His street cred, his unbelievable skill,

drive, and commanding stage presence will ensure that Himothy and his label Bredwinaz Ent. will become house-

hold names for a long time to come. He was mentored by Grammy Award winner Robert Waller also known as

E.S.T. He has worked with the likes of the legendary hit maker Carvin who has produced hit records for Usher as

well as others. He has recently appeared on Batcave Radio alongside Young Chris and D.j. Diamond Kutz. where

he stood out completely. HIs Life story will also be available in book form soon, a movie is also in the makings.

He was nominated for best new artist at the 2008 Philly Hip-hop Awards, and nominated again in 2009 with his

team TrapStreet where they went on to win the award for best new rap group. Also he attended the B.E.T. hip hop

awards in downtown Atlanta and was invited by B.e.t’s own Anton who was responsible for the Dj Diamond Kutz

show. He was also the very first Artist to perform @ Club Onyx where he later on went to perform alongside of

O.J. da Juiceman where he displayed an incredible performance. He has also performed @ several colleges such

as Temple University, Widener University, the radio station at Lincoln University, just to name a few. He will be on

tour soon to a town near you. He has a very bright future in music. He currently has his own in house studio ran by

talented Producer Ebola . Himothy will really impacting music in 2011!
