Introduction to Peer Learning Where to find the system

The system is entirely web-based and located as a launch-able link from your organization’s AI portal page.

Browser compatibility To ensure you have the best experience please use one of the following browsers versions. The system currently supports the Chrome (>=42.x), Safari (>=8.x), Firefox (>=37.x) and Internet Explorer (>=9). The system has also been tested and validated for use on tablet computers. The system relies on HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and other web standards. Each web browser may implement part or all of these standards.

Logging in The system is capable of displaying patient health information and requires a user to login to the system via the main portal page, typically with their enterprise login ID. The system does not directly manage user names and passwords but delegates that function to your institution’s central enterprise directory system. All page views are logged in the auditing system based on the authorized user ID.

A reminder is available and can be administered by specialty. To toggle reminder on or off click the reminder you would like to enable, indicated by a green button or disable. Indicated by a red button.

Manage Adjudicators

The adjudicator selected during a review specifies who should resolve a review disagreement. The manage adjudicators page is only available to it-staff and ai-staff. In some situations, the adjudicator does not always match the specialty and having additional flexibility is required. The list is defaulted to the list of specialties in Bridge. Additional adjudicators can be managed to create, edit, enable or disable individually. To create a new adjudicator: 1. Go to the Admin Tab 2. Click the Manage Adjudicators 3. Click New 4. Name the specialty 5. Choose the adjudicator from the list 6. Select Enabled to enable the adjudicator

7. Click Create

Automatic Image Launching This configuration when enabled, automatically launches the images associated with the case that was selected.

Comments Required When enabled, a comment is required when submitting reviews. A comment will not be required if the report receives a concur score.

Email Enabled This configuration will control whether emails will be sent or not for this application.

Prospective Quota Percentage The quota percentage in site configuration sets the minimum quota for the radiologists, based on the percentage of cases read the previous week. The default quota is 3% and can be changed at any time. The change will take effect the next week when quotas are regenerated, unless manually updated (see Prospective Config below). For example, if a radiologist read 100 cases the previous week, the quota generated for this week would be 3.

Available Sites

Only exams from the sites selected will be considered for prospective review. If no sites are specified, all application visible sites will be used.

Procedure Specialty or Radiologist Specialty based worklists

Prospective case lists are built by procedure-specialty mappings or employee-specialty mappings. Employee-specialty mappings present prospective reviews for exams read by other employees with the same primary specialty. Procedure-specialty mappings present prospective reviews for exams with procedures codes mapped to the specialty of the logged in radiologist.

Special Pediatric Body Workflow

This special-case option is disabled by default. When enabled, the Body specialty will be split into Body and Pediatric based on the configured

age (see Pediatric Body Age below). Note that this will only apply when using the Procedure specialty mapping option.

Pediatric Body Age The value of patient age at time of exam (in years) for which Pediatric and Body specialties should be split. Note that this will only apply if the Special Pediatric Body Workflow is enable (see Special Pediatric Body Workflow above).

Automatic Image Launching

Launches images automatically when a study is selected.

Reply to Email The email used as the reply-to address for Peer Learning notifications.

Bcc Email Address An email bcc’d on all communication from the Peer Learning application.

Application url

Base URL to be used when sending automated emails.

Cron API Key The API Key is used for schedule tasks for the application to function and is auto-generated.

Prospective Config Prospective config is available to it-staff and ai-staff. Attending radiologists with the supervisor role can also see prospective config page for their section only. On the Reviews page, under the “Track Progress” tab, individual radiologist quotas and modalities can be managed. Click “Track Progress”, choose a specialty, then select the “Prospective Config” tab. For each radiologist in the section you can make additional configuration changes that impact the radiologist and section case lists.

Outstanding Cases

The radiologist’s current outstanding quota of reports to review is displayed in the “Outstanding Cases” column. This value can be manually adjusted to override the current value. Each week the quota will be increased based on the prospective quota (see Site Configuration above).

Percent of cases to be reviewed

The pool of eligible exams for a radiologist to review in the prospective case list is a random selection from a pool of all exams read by other radiologists in the same specialty (when using radiologist specialty mapping) or exams with a procedure in the same specialty as the logged in user (when using procedure specialty mapping), pending Modality Exclusions (described below), with a bias toward more recent exams (the system will grow the date range the pool looks at until the quota can be met).

By default, there is no minimum number of cases reviewed for a specific radiologist in a section, but a minimum can be set to ensure that a radiologist’s cases are given additional scrutiny (e.g. a junior radiologist). Setting the “Percent of cases to be reviewed” slider creates a higher-priority pool of exams that will take precedence over the default random selection pool. This minimum is calculated based on the previous weeks volume (like the normal quota) and will be satisfied by any other radiologist in the specialty reviewing reports. If there are multiple radiologists with manual minimums set, those manual minimums will be selected randomly in the pool until all are satisfied, then the default pool logic will resume. We suggest reviewing the statistics on the “Prospective Data” to understand the implications of setting minimums in excess of the default quota, since larger values may result in a pool of reports composed exclusively of the radiologist with a high minimum.

Modality Exclusions By default, all reports read by a radiologist in a section will be eligible for review. You can disable modalities from this list to exclude them from the eligibility pool, so long as at least one modality type is enabled. For example, if CT is disabled, that means that any modality type except CT read by the radiologist will be eligible for review.

Manually Reset Outstanding Cases The button on the bottom of the page will reset all radiologists’ quotas within the section based on the exam volume of the previous week.
