CHAPTER IV

ENFORCEMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION

Section 10. Law Enforcement Authorities. — The

National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the

Philippine National Police (PNP) shall be

responsible for the efficient and effective law

enforcement of the provisions of this Act. The NBI and

the PNP shall organize a cybercrime unit or center

manned by special investigators to exclusively

handle cases involving violations of this Act.

COUNTERMEASURES

AGAINST FINANCIAL FRAUD

Cooperation and participation with JABRAC (Joint Anti-Bank Robbery Action Committee)

which includes topics on other financial fraud cases such as ATM/Credit Card Fraud;

Collaboration with Banks and other Money Transfer Company;

Conduct of a massive information drive through seminars, trainings and workshop

provided to different sectors (Judicial, Law Enforcement, Prosecutors, Community);

Utilize the social media in information dissemination on the different modus operandi

used by cyber-criminals;

Distribution of magazines, leaflets and other form of information materials in public and

frequented places; and

Continuous application of court orders for the mandated compliance of data storage

companies.

MEETING WITH CCAP

On July 19, 2017, PSSUPT MARNI C MARCOS JR, Director, ACG, met with the

representatives from the Credit Card Association of the Philippines (CCAP) and other

Banking Institutions regarding concerns on cooperation with the unit, the protection of the

costumers, apprehension of criminals, and other pressing matters concerning financial fraud.
