Sherry Mercedes James

Dear Fellow Breeders,

Welcome to the 2nd Red Carpet Event. This is your personal invitation to Pheasant Trek, and this very special Angus occasion. Once again we are privileged to have HAVE Angus as our sale partners, and this year we’re thrilled to include Brumley Herefords, from Orovada, Nevada as part of the Red Carpet team. The offerings are very exciting and you can look for each and every individual to bring it to the forefront as the year plays out.

Pheasant Trek extends a special invitation to those juniors seeking heifer projects. We have a passion for working with young people that want to be involved with this great breed. The Pheasant Trek program grew from a junior project and we know the importance and the serious role that juniors play in any breed as they are the future. The Red Carpet cattle from Pheasant Trek performed admirably for all of the juniors who made purchases in our 2009 event, you’ll see throughout the catalog how well our cow families have performed. We’re extremely excited to make the first payouts from the scholarship program to our juniors.

Once again this year we are convinced that the Pheasant Trek lots offered in the sale will be grand genetic prospects for their new owners. The Pheasant Trek program continues to believe that you have to enjoy looking out your window at the cattle in the pastures and not just seeing a bunch of numbers on a computer. There is no doubt in our minds that you can have the best of both worlds, we focus on soundness, structure, muscle, rib shape and look to balance those traits with real world numbers. Eye appealing cattle can perform, and it is our enthusiasm and belief that there are many folks who understand and believe that as well.

Like all of you, we have a passion for this business, and that is why at the end of those long days when you’ve fought the weather, the long cold days of winter and the dusty 110 degree days of summer, the weeks the bulls have broken everything in sight and the 5:00 am mornings breeding cows and those 10:30 pm nights checking for heats, yes, we’re just like you, it’s a love for these cattle that gives us a passion for this business.

Bring your passion for this wonderful business and the whole family for this very special Red Carpet event on October 31st. We have some very special things planned. The kids won’t want to miss the “Halloween Hall”, a judging contest, and don’t forget the costume contest with prizes galore, plus a very special lunch to celebrate the harvest season. Then of course there is that very special cattle offering you won’t find anywhere else. We look forward to seeing our old friends and making plenty of new ones. We’ll have it all, show heifer prospects, herd sires, donor prospects and of course all free of genetic defects. Come fly with us……it’s going to be an extraordinary day. If we can answer any questions about the offering, make reservations, or offer directions, don’t hesitate to call. We can’t wait to walk the red carpet…can you?

Sincerely, The Danekas FamilyJames, Sherry, and Mercedes

P T Ideal Addiction 805Maternal granddam of Lot 13 and a maternal sister to Lot 12.

Dear Fellow Breeders,

It is an honor and very humbling that we were asked to be included in the “Red Carpet Event”. We have known each of these successful “cattle families” for several years. We truly believe them to have some of the best cattle and genetics in the West and to be included is just a privilege! When we sat down with the girls and decided to consign these heifers we wanted only the best to walk on the “Red Carpet”!

In our operation we raise cattle in a true commercial setting on the high desert with no creep and bottom line they must be good, sound and functional. Our philosophy has always been they must be cows first and if they can show this is just an added bonus. With this in mind we have been very fortunate to show cattle that have been very successful in the show ring. The cows behind these heifers are easy doin’ with excellent udders and these three should be no exception. We are reserving a flush on each of these heifers because we think these are “the future”. They are from the “heart” of our herd and the most rewarding part of this business for us is if they go and work for someone else too.

Again it is an honor and privilege to be a part of the “Red Carpet Event” and whether you purchase from us or one of the other families know that we all have similar goals in mind, we all do it as a family, with just plain old fashion values that we believe in what we are doing, raising great cattle with good pedigrees that show “big time”! If you have any questions please feel free to call us. Thanks for your consideration and we hope to visit with you all on sale day.

This one is just flat hard to let go! She puts everything into one incredible package that just doesn’t come along all that often. Her tabulation goes back to our “Sammie” cow family and “Notice Me” on the top, are two of the most successful cows in the breed having produced several national champions but most important flat awesome cows! She has a “chiseled” front coupled with being really powerful from behind, not to mention that profile. This is Kari’s pick as “the one”! Dear Angus Friends and Family,

Here at HAVE Angus we are proud to offer this set of cattle to you in the second annual Red Carpet Event. Along with our partners in the sale our goal is to provide quality cattle and a fun venue for all. This set of heifers and one herd bull prospect bring you the best we have to offer. Mel, Darrell and I selected these females from our entire 2010 calf crop of both ET and natural calves. We have chosen the very top end and feel this offering is extremely impressive.

The cow families represented are some of the most successful here in California and throughout the west from both a show ring and production standpoint. The bull we are offering is one of the most exciting young herd sires we have ever produced and surely will do a great job in the future in both the show ring and the pasture. We enjoy producing cattle that work for our customers, and as always will offer support to the new owners whether it be at shows or during breeding time.

We look forward to seeing you on October 31st here in Wilton. Feel free to call us any time to come by and look at our offering or view our sale video on our web site, www.haveangus.com. Our phone numbers are available in the sale book and on our web site.
