Reasons for phasing
• Tender of MÁV Zrt. without result• Governmental decision on changing Beneficiary
at the end of 2010• Postpone of project start because of delay in
high level decisions • Start of preparation contract in spring 2012• Projected start of GSM-R implementation at the
begining of 2013
Phases of project implementation
• Project content has not been changed (GSM-R network along railway lines – 3064 km)
• Phase 1 in period 2007-2013: 935 km Fulfilling obligations deriving from Commission
decisions Fulfilling obligations deriving from EU regulation (ETCS
development on lines where track development is implemented)
• Phase 2 in period 2014-2020: 2129 km
