Edge Hill University has been building up its researchenvironment over the last few years, making significantinvestments in staff, facilities and student support. We nowoffer a broad portfolio of Masters programmes and there is afast-growing community of full-time PhD students as well asa smaller number of part-time students.

- ensure that we are holding correct personal information - enable you to confirm that you agree to abide by Edge Hill University’s rules and regulations- provide you with your ‘Unicard’ – your University ID card- activate your University account (enabling access to the Library and essential IT resources)
When do I enrol?The main enrolment session for Faculty of Arts and Sciences Postgraduatestudents is Monday, 16th September 2013 in the Wilson Centre (to findout your enrolment time please see your department information at the back ofthis document) with the exception of MSc Conservation Managementwho will be enrolling at 11.30 am on Tuesday 2nd October 2013 in theBusiness School Foyer.
You must attend your designated enrolment session. If for good reason you willmiss your session you must contact the Enrolment Team: E: [email protected] T: 01695 657600
I have outstanding conditions on my offerIf there are any outstanding conditions associated with your offer of a place (suchas references) you will be able to provisionally enrol and you should attend yourenrolment session and any induction activities. Please note that you are expectedto meet outstanding conditions promptly and will be withdrawn if these are notsatisfied.

What ID do I need to bring to enrolment?
Identification (ID)The enrolment process should take no longer than one hour to complete; youmust bring with you ONE form of Identification (ID) from the following:
Please note that originals must be provided. Copies will not be accepted.
International Student IDThe University is required by law to check, verify and retain copies of thisdocumentation in student files as part of its immigration sponsorship duties.Staff will check this documentation in student files as part of its immigrationsponsorship duties. Staff will check this documentation to ensure that studentshave the right to study in the UK and specifically, with Edge Hill University.Please note that even if you have provided these documents during theapplication process you must still provide them at enrolment. This policy willbe strictly adhered to – you will not be able to enrol if you do not provide allthe required documentation.
The University will monitor students with a time limit on their visa. Atenrolment students must provide evidence of their current visa status, wherethe visa is due to expire within 3 months of the start of the course, students mustprovide evidence of their ongoing application to UKBA.

If you need to come to your enrolment session by car, a ‘Temporary ParkingPermit’ is available with this booklet. You must display this on your dashboardas you enter the campus via the main entrance and hand it in to one of ourparking attendants. You will be directed to the nearest available space, if any areavailable. We must emphasise that we are not in a position to guarantee thatparking spaces will be available.

Tuition Fees and Finance
Postgraduate students are not entitled to apply for tuition fee or maintenanceloans or grants from Student Finance towards their tuition fees or living costs.

Tuition fees must be either paid in full at the start of each academic year or byrecurring card payment in three equal instalments on the dates listed below:
The University will accept the following:
- Cash in sterling up to £3,000 - Cheques payable to ‘Edge Hill University’- Most credit and debit cards (recurring card payments cannot be set up with a maestro/solo card)- Bankers drafts
Ensure that sufficient funds are available to cover the first and subsequent cardpayments.
Tuition fees need to be paid by 16 October 2013. If you fail to meet thisdeadline you may not be allowed to continue with your programme.
Instalments and Recurring Card PaymentsTo request payment of your tuition fees by instalments, you must complete andsign the ‘University Payment Contract’ form. You will also be required to set upan instalment plan via recurring card payments, using your debit or credit card.You should arrange for funds to be available to cover the first and subsequentcard payments. For further information related to payments, contact the Fees,Scholarships and Bursaries Team: [email protected] prior toenrolment.

Sponsored StudentsIf you are sponsored by an employer for part of, or the full tuition fee, you mustprovide the following information at enrolment:
- A letter from your sponsor to confirm that they agree to sponsor you; this must be on letter headed paper and state the name and address where the invoice needs to be sent. It should also list your name, student number and the amount of fees they are paying;- A company purchase order number.
Please note that you will still remain personally responsible for payment oftuition fees, even if there is an arrangement for payment to be made on yourbehalf from a sponsor. If they fail to pay you will be required to pay yourself.
Fee Reduction for Edge Hill GraduatesEdge Hill graduates enrolling on eligible programmes may benefit from a 20%reduction in their tuition fees, visit:edgehill.ac.uk/postgraduate/fees/reducedfees for more information.

Rail From Liverpool Central to Ormskirk station on Merseyrail’s Northern Line or Preston to Ormskirk station on Northern rail. National Rail Enquiries: 08457 484950 www.nationalrail.co.uk
Air There are two airports servicing the Ormskirk area: Liverpool Airport 0871 521 8484 www.liverpoolairport.com Manchester Airport 0871 271 0711 www.manchesterairport.co.uk
Road Via the M6 North and South, junction 26, then onto the M58, junction 3, taking the A570 towards Southport and Ormskirk. The campus can also be reached from Preston or Liverpool via the A59. Satellite Navigation address: 53.558622,-2.875178. Using our postcode in your sat nav may result in directions to our back entrance which is only open at certain times. If you wish to use the postcode it is L39 4QP but please check that the route brings you via St Helens Road.
The University operates the ‘Edge Link’ bus service between the campus andOrmskirk bus station (a pathway from the bus station leads directly to the trainstation) every 15 minutes throughout the day, 8.05 am to 20.45 pm Monday toFriday, excluding Bank Holidays and 8.05 am to 17.45 pm Saturday. The serviceis free on production of your ‘Unicard’ for each journey.
Travelling to your Teaching SessionsParking is limited at Edge Hill University and only available to parking permitholders. Eligibility criteria applies for all parking permit applications and fulldetails are available in our Car Parking Policy at:edgehill.ac.uk/sustainability/travel.
If you are a student coming to study at Edge Hill for the first time, you will needto formally enroll on your course and receive your student number before youcan apply for your official permit. Prior to your enrolment day, you will besupplied with a temporary parking permit to allow you access to the campus tocomplete your enrolment. Following enrolment you will be directed to apply foryour parking permit online.
If you are eligible, a blue student parking permit will be provided which willallow you to park in the Blue Zone i.e. the main car park. Other car parks arereserved for staff and visitors.
