reactivation,

– approx. 110 ml rinse aid,

– Dishwasher detergent, see"Operation"

Every commercial dishwasher istested at the factory. There may beresidual water in the machine from thistest. This is not an indication that ithas been used previously.

Filling the salt reservoirIn order to achieve good cleaningresults, the commercial dishwasherneeds to operate with soft (low incalcium deposits) water. Hard waterresults in a build-up of calcium depositson dishware and in the commercialdishwasher. Water with a hardness levelhigher than 4 gr/gal (4 °d / 0.7 mmol/l)needs to be softened. This takes placeautomatically in the integrated watersoftener. The water softener in thecommercial dishwasher is suitable for awater hardness level of up to 37 gr/gal(36 °d / 6.5 mmol/l).

See "Settings menu, Water hardness"for setting the water softener.

If the water in your area is very softand constantly lower than 4 gr/gal(0.7 mmol/l / 4 °d - German scale),you do not need to adddishwasher .saltThe water softener must, however, still be programmed to correspond tothe water hardness level in your area.

Do not fill the salt reservoir withdishwasher detergent (includingliquid detergent).Dishwasher detergent will damagethe water softener.

Only use special coarse graineddishwasher salt for reactivation, orpure evaporated salt.Miele Professional offer appropriateproducts.Other types of salt may containinsoluble additives which can impairthe functioning of the water softener.

Water intake

The water in the commercialdishwasher is not safe to drink!

– The commercial dishwasher must beconnected to the water supply inaccordance with local regulations.

– The water used must at least complywith national regulations for drinkingwater quality. If the water supply has a high ironcontent, there is a danger ofcorrosion occurring on items beingcleaned in the dishwasher, as well asthe appliance itself. If the chloride content of the waterexceeds 100 mg/l, the risk ofcorrosion to items being cleaned inthe dishwasher will be furtherincreased.

– In certain regions (e.g. mountainousregions), the water composition maycause precipitates to form, requiringthe use of softened water for thecommercial dishwasher.

– The commercial dishwasher isequipped with a safety system for theprotection of drinking water and maybe connected to the water supplywithout a backflow preventer, ifnational regulations permit.

– The water pressure (flow pressure atthe take-off point) must be between30 and 1000 kPa (4.5 and 145 psi).If the water pressure is lower thanthis, the fault message Water intakewill appear in the display (see"Problem solving guide").If the water pressure is too high, apressure reducer valve must be fitted.

– A shut off valve with a 3/4" malethread connection must be providedon site. It should be easily accessiblebecause the water supply should beturned off when the commercialdishwasher is not in use.

– The inlet hose is an approx. 1.5 m(59") long pressure hose DN 10 withan 3/4" female thread. A 1.5 m (59")long flexible metal extension hosetested to 14,000 kPa (2030 psi) isavailable as an optional accessory ifrequired. On no account may the inletfilter and the flow regulator in thescrew connection be removed.
