Read this book and you will learn! 2. The Best of Times by Greg Tang Summary: If you need help learning your multiplication tables, this is the book for you. This book has a fun and easy rhyme to help you remember the rules of multiplication starting from zero all the way up to the number ten. This book is bright and colorful with great illustrations. The pictures are of silly animals to make things even more exciting and memorable. This is a great alternative to the monotonous memorization. If you are only in need of a review this book can help you too. The last couple of pages breaks down each number and shows you how the riddle works mathematically. They learn about what people first used to measure distance, height, weight, volume, etc. The children learn about depending on the item they are measuring they may use different units. They also learn how these units relate to each other, such as kilo and kilogram. If you want to see where all the measurements that you’ve heard about came and how to use them, this is the book for you! 4. Summary: This book helps students to explore and expand their knowledge of colors and patterns while using tasty treats, M&Ms! The students will learn to follow directions and create their own patterns and problems. The book allows the students to practice their addition and multiplication with the M&Ms as well. This is a great hands-on activity book that all students will be sure to enjoy.

6. COLOR by Ruth Heller.

Summary: This is a fun book with rhyming text that helps to teach students about color. There are many different colors and this book helps teach students about the primary colors and all the different colors that can be created from them. This book has great visual tools to help students learn as well. There are transparency pages that create new colors when placed over different pages. This book lends itself to being a great introduction to art as well.

7. Incredible Inventions poems selected by Lee Bennett Hopkins

Summary: This is a great picture book that focuses on all types of inventions. Each invention is described in an exciting way through a poem. This book offers a different way to learn interesting facts about inventions. The pictures and poetry will draw the students in before they even realize they are learning!

8. HOUSEHOLD INVENTIONS: From Toilets to Toasters (Which Came First) by Natalie Lunis

Summary: This is an excellent way for students to learn about household inventions that they use every day. This book also gives them a timeline as to when these inventions came about and which ones came first. The book is set

up in a quiz format where the reader gets to guess which invention out of two came first. With each answer comes a small paragraph with facts about each invention.

9: UNCOVER HUMAN BODY by Luann Colombo

Summary: This 3-dimensional book is a great way for students to learn facts about the human body. This book offers in-depth and hands-on explorations of the human body. The students will learn how the human body works in an interesting and less complex way than other books may offer.

10. Martin’s Big Words: The Life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by Doreen Rappaport

Summary: This is an amazing book to introduce this amazing leader to students. Original quotes from King’s writing and speeches are used throughout the book. This book starts with King’s childhood all through his efforts for civil rights. The illustrations are amazing and only add the mystique of the book.
