Below, brainstorm – there are no bad ideas here – and write down any key words orphrases that answer the questions a mission statement answers -- What (what am I here todo?), Why (why am I doing it?), For Whom (who am I doing this for?) and include Value(what value does this bring?).
Examples: These may be things like “financial stability,” “good parent,” “strong leader,” etc.
Now try grouping your words/phrases with others that are similar, develop a topic keyword foreach grouping, and write those group topic names below:
Examples: These may be group topics like, “philanthropy,” “finance,” “spirituality,” etc.

Now, use your keywords and topics to brainstorm 4-5 possible vision statements – these are yourlong-term statements of how you would like to see yourself over the longer course of your future.
Now edit, revise, and rewrite the above brainstorm statements into your final vision statement:
Repeat this process for your mission statement – this is your short-term-future statement answering thepurpose questions – brainstorm here first:

Using the brainstorming method, write some keywords, phrases, etc. on the left-hand side thatdescribe where you are currently.
Now assemble the brainstorming notes from the left side into a “current situation” statement, below:

Use the chart below to create an at-a-glance milestone checker for your main goals andsmaller goals. Use the number and letter of the goal to fill in the chart, like you see in thisexample:
