Personal presentation
Our expectations
Uniform & Personal
PresentationThe vast majority of the students
already wear the correct uniform and
present themselves smartly
everyday.
It is important however that uniform
is worn correctly and that we present
ourselves in a way that helps prepare
us for an adult working life.
We want to have positive
interactions with students and
therefore all students need to comply
with the uniform and presentation
expectations rather than use it as a
means of creating negative
conversations or potentially difficult
situations of discipline.
A personal and professional
presentation
● The following guidance has been produced to highlight
to students what IS and what IS NOT acceptable at
CVC.
● Some guidelines have been relaxed for our older
students. This is because we believe that some
cosmetics will eventually contribute to our professional
presentation and it is important to learn how to use them
appropriately.
No extreme hairThis includes:
● No logos or insignia shaved into the hair
● No extreme hair styles
● No extreme hair colours
Make Up● Make up can be worn in year 10 and 11 only but it must be discreet -
“Showing wise self-restraint”
● In other words, use it in very small amounts.
● If it is not discreet you will be asked to remove it.

The sweatshirt● All students need to have their
sweaters with them at all times.

● A plain white short sleeved T-shirt
may be worn underneath the school
polo shirt. It should not be
noticeable.
TrousersTrousers should not be

and should flare ½ way
over shoes. They should
not be jeans or similar.
They should be formal.
Skirts
Skirts should be near

make a final decision
about appropriate
length). ‘Skater skirts’ are
not appropriate.
ShoesShoes should be plain black

They should be formal in style and
you should be able to polish them.

Outdoor CoatsOutdoor jackets are an important addition
to the daily school uniform.
A jacket should be formal and
appropriate for use at school.
When not needed outdoor jackets should
be stored in a bag or locker.
Outdoor jackets are not part of our
uniform during the school day however,
occasionally, due to the weather, they
might be needed when moving around
the schools grounds.
Jersey tops, hoodies, cardigans and
sportswear in general are not
appropriate.
Finally...
● Pupils will not be able to go to lessons
unless in full uniform and may be sent
home
● Offending items may be confiscated for
parents to collect
