9:30-9:45am across US 171:45-3pm down HWY 37 from

Goodwin Mill to Perry’s Bridge RDs

Saturday’s escorts12:30-2pm from Bagley Swamp to1 of the staging areas in Winfall.

Road closure 2:30- 3:30pm/4:00 max

Escort across US 17 between 2:30-4:30 pm

These times will fluctuate depending on the size of our wagon train

The gates open Thursday noon at the Newbold-White house.

Friday morning coffee and muffins for sale at the visitor center.From 6:30-7:30

Shuttle service to move support rigs/campers to Belvidere camp from 7:30 -9:00

Gates close at 8:30 for new riders

Wagon pulls out at 9:30-10:00 depending on size may need a break between each 20 riders/wagon

Enter from Layden road and exit out of last drive way back onto paved road.

Some riders and/or wagon masters maybe traveling alone and cant leave their animals

May need to have volunteers walking to sale food or have folks there to stand with animal while participants buy food and use potties.

Saturdays Wagon Route

Some participants may come in on Friday night or they may come Saturday morning to ride the Saturday Route.

Shuttle service to move support rigs/campers to Newbold-White house or Winfall staging area from 7:30a.m. -9:00 a.m.

Gates close at 8:30a.m. for new riders

Wagon pulls out at 9:30 a.m. -10:00 a.m. Depending on the number of participants organizers may need a break between each 20 riders/wagon

Belvidere Ruritains will be selling sausage biscuits to go for participants as they head out for the day.

Saturday lunch stop

There is only one drive way so we need to keep participants moving to the back of field so the train does not bottle neck at drive way.

Organizers may need volunteers for traffic control wagon/riders and cars.

Organizers may need to have volunteers walking and selling food and/or willing to stand with animals while participant goes to buy food and use potties.

Parkville Ruritans will be selling lunch.

Winfall staging areas for parade through Hertford

Purpose is to re-group, rest, water animals. 100 or less participants we will gather at Winfall Park.100+ we will use Winfall Central School as a staging area.

Those not riding in parade can pick up their rigs and drive to NBWH

Those not riding in the wagon train but want to ride in the parade can park at boat ramp or Missing Mill Park and join in at bridge. Then they can circle around and go back to their vehicles.

Breakdown on the timing

Average speed for horse and rider is 3 MPH

Fridays estimated fast time with a 1 hour lunch should take 5 hours for a small group

1-10 riders 1-4 wagonsAdd at least 30 minutes for each

10 riders and/or 4 wagons

Saturdays estimated fast time with a 1 hour lunch should take

4 hours to reach staging

Take 1 hour to regroup at staging + 1 ½ hours from staging to camp

Total fast time for Saturday 6 ½ hrs
