Dear Italy Lover,

The brochure you’re holding in your hands is filled with wonderful, time-tested escorted Italy tour itineraries with set departure dates.

And besides our classic 14-day Italy North Tour, our ever popular 10-day Vesuvius Tour, or our 8 –day Splendid Sicily, we’ve recently introduced brand new itineraries such as the 9-day A Taste of Italy Tour and the 10-day Appian Way. But I’ll be the first to admit that not everyone is keen on joining an escorted group tour. Travel is never easier, nor more efficient than with a professionally-operated tour. But for others, stepping out of their hotel into a foreign city, with just a map and a metro token, is exactly what travel is all about!

In both cases, Perillo is here to maximize your experience:We add fun and serendipity into your scheduled group tour. We add precision and predictability into your independent adventure.

Whether you are a ‘tour person’ or an ‘independent’, this brochure is a great start in your Italy vacation planning.Inside you’ll find 8 great Italy tours and our deluxe MSC Yacht Club cruise to the eastern Mediterranean.

On page 5, you’ll also learn how to create your own trip, with our help, by visiting our website ItalyVacations.com. Don’t like using websites?

Just call ItalyVacations.com at 1-800-ITALY-25. We’ll work with you, or your travel agent on your independent vacation right on the phone.

On page 4, you can learn about our new department dedicated to groups of 15 or more people. Your school, church, business and family are all great candidates to travel to Italy, and beyond, as a group. And if you’re the group’s leader, there’s a good chance you’ll travel for free! Just call our groups department at 1-855-PT-GROUP to get started.

Finally, be sure to ask for our one hour, hi-definition DVD on Italy travel. It’s a beautiful preview to the wonderful experience that’s ahead of you!

Buon viaggio!

Steve Perillo

P.S. A Perillo Italy vacation makes a great gift for the holidays or anytime of the year. Now that’s a gift to remember!

WELCOME TO ITALY!

Day 1 – Thursday or Saturday Milan ➤ Cernobbio After your included breakfast, you’ll be picked up at your final Perillo Tour hotel in Milan for our 25 mile drive to Cernobbio, setting of the movie “A Month by the Lake.”

Elegant shops, picturesque cafes and restaurants, and the ancient church are well worth seeing. The Piazza, where the steamer docks, is a wonderful place to have a coffee, or one of those fabulous Italian gelatos, and talk with the friendly residents.

You’ll note with slight envy the many luxurious villas around; one owned by George Clooney. Taking the public steamer is a good way to view the villas, as well as to visit some of the other towns on Lake Como. Dinner is on your own tonight. B

Day 2 – Friday or Sunday Cernobbio ➤ Bellagio ➤ CernobbioToday you will enjoy a full day excursion to Bellagio, nestled along the banks of picturesque Lake Como.

In an area renowned for its natural beauty, Bellagio, in particular, has always stood out due to its unique location on the edge of a peninsula jutting into the the crystal blue lake. Enjoy your day in one of the most beautiful places on our earth! On the way back to Cernobbio, ask your

On the way, we’ll stop in Montecatini Alto which rises 1000 ft. above the plains of Valdinievole with time to explore this charming village. Next we drive to Montecarlo di Lucca which appears like an island floating over a sea of age-old olive trees. Finally, we’ll head to a typical farm for a wine and olive oil tasting.

Late afternoon we arrive at the Hotel, in the heart of Viareggio and a few steps from the sea. Tonight enjoy dinner on your own. B

Day 2 – Monday Cinque Terre ➤ Monterosso ➤ ViareggioAfter breakfast, it’s a wonderful drive from Tuscany to the Cinque Terre in Liguria, where you’ll have a chance to experience the magic of these enchanting coastline towns.

Cinque Terre, meaning ‘5 Lands’ has become extraordinarily popular in the past few years, but has seen little change due to limited roadways and few hotels. We’ll drop you off in Monterosso, the village boasting the largest sand beach and countless lemon trees, vineyards and olive groves.

You’ll enjoy a dream-like day exploring these towns on your own. Your only obligation is to make your way from Monterosso to Riomaggiore by your pick-up time.

There’s a foot path connecting them all, as well as a train and boat services. And be sure to stop for some pasta with seafood and white wine. We promise this to be one of the most magical days of your life!

Next, we travel back to 97 A.D. to the town of Pompeii. A city perfectly preserved by the ash that rained down from Mt. Vesuvius, you’ll see the tragic fossils of the people attempting to escape with their children and dogs. And many of the streets, homes and stores are perfectly intact.

We follow the medieval streets to the most striking square in Florence, Piazza della Signoria, home of Santa Croce Church, Michelangelo’s final resting place.

“Breathtaking” is the only word to describe one’s first view of Michelangelo’s David. Yes, it’s quite large and detailed. But the real magic is in how Michelangelo transformed a lifeless rock into a man - full of pride, wary of his adversary, yet quietly confident. All with just a hammer and chisel!

Our last night together will be at a popular Florentine restaurant with great Tuscan wines. No tears! You’ll exchange email addresses with your new friends and make plans for the

Michelangelo’s final resting place.

“Breathtaking” is the only word to describe one’s first view of Michelangelo’s David. Yes, it’s quite large and detailed. But the real magic is in how Michelangelo transformed a lifeless rock into a man - full of pride, wary of his adversary, yet quietly confident. All with just a hammer and a chisel.

Tonight, please be our guest at a fine local Florentine restaurant with flowing wines and great friends! BB, D

DAY 6 - Saturday

This afternoon we’ll visit a typical Tuscan winery to learn about the grape, the “nose,” food pairings and more importantly-which glass to use! Cin-Cin!

Tonight, it’s dinner on your own in Florence.BB

DAY 6 - Thursday Taormina Sightseeing ➤ Afternoon of Leisure ➤ Dinner Out

After this morning’s leisurely tour, you’ll know why Taormina is known as the “Jewel of Italy.” Its winding streets and secluded gardens are truly enchanting. The snow covered volcano, Mt. Etna, serves as a dramatic backdrop to the well-preserved Greek and Roman outdoor theater.

This afternoon is all yours! Why not stroll the medieval streets lined with interesting little shops, take a dip in the water, or just relax.

Tonight, we enjoy dinner and great Sicilian wines at a charming local restaurant. BB, D

DAY 7 - Friday Taormina ➤ Mt. Etna Visit ➤ Wine Tasting & Lunch ➤ Taormina This morning we meet one of the most active volcanoes in the world. Mt. Etna is in an almost constant state of eruption. Don’t worry, we’ll keep a safe distance!

The fertile volcanic soils support extensive agriculture, orchards and vineyards. So let’s visit a local winery for a tour, a tasting and a light lunch!

Tonight you can enjoy dinner on your own. Have you tried “pesce spada” yet? Swordfish is Sicily’s favorite seafood. BB, L

DAY 8 - Saturday

Taormina ➤ Noto ➤ Siracusa ➤ Taormina ➤ Dinner Out This morning we motor south to Noto, a “World Heritage Site.” Noto is also known as Sicily’s “Baroque City” because it consists entirely of palaces, churches and houses in the Baroque style.

This afternoon we’ll visit Sicily’s most important Greek city of antiquity – Siracusa. Archimedes,

the Greek mathematician, was slain here by the Romans. Plato taught here!

The archaeological garden is peppered with attractions: the Greek Theater, the Roman Amphitheater and the “Ear of Dionysus.”

But what an ear! Nearly 200 feet long, you can enter the inner chamber of the “ear” where tearing a piece of paper sounds like a gun shot. A forerunner to modern day “bugging” – the tyrant Dionysus eavesdropped on prisoners in the “ear.”

Tonight is our last dinner out together. No tears. You’ll exchange e-mails with your new friends and make plans for the future. How about we all meet again on a Perillo Tour to Hawaii! BB, D

Day 3 – Sunday Bari Our first port-of-call is Bari, the second most important city in southern Italy. (For extra credit: What is the first city of the South?) The Church of St. Nicholas and the Norman Castle are highlights of this city from which many American immigrants derive. You can also spend a few hours at the beach, or visit Matera where The Passion of The Christ was filmed.

Day 4 – Monday Katakolon & Olympia, GreeceThis morning we sail into the tiny port town of Katakolon, population 601. But the real reason for this stop is your optional visit to Olympia, site of the first Olympic games. We will admire the ruins of the Temple of Zeus, the Gymnasium, the Hippodrome and the imposing original Olympic stadium where the early Games were held and designed to hold up to 40,000 spectators.

The MSC Divina Cruise Ship

MSC Divina is the newest ship in the MSC fleet. At 1,095 feet in length, the Divina will offer travelers a true Italian-style cruise experience. She has all the latest exciting features – gourmet- themed restaurants, sports complex, indoor-outdoor pools, a magnificent theater with top entertainment, and wonderful ports-of-call in the Western Mediterranean.

But that’s not good enough for our Perillo guests!

You see, the Divina carries 4,000 passengers in the main section of the ship. But on the upper deck is a private, wood-paneled “club” that looks and feels exactly like a high-end yacht, including our 24 hour private butler service!

CruiseCritic.com calls the MSC Yacht Club cabins, “the best suites at sea.” These are the suites Perillo Tours has reserved for you at the same price, or less, than cabins in the “back of the ship!”

And naturally, you have full access to the facilities throughout the main ship as well, including the restaurants, bars, clubs, casino, swimming pools and theater.

BOOK YOUR TOUR NOW. See your travel agent, visit us on the web at www.PerilloTours.com or call us toll free at 1.800.431.1515

Day 7 – Thursday At SeaNo appointments, no obligations, the day is yours to relax at the spa, linger at lunch, watch a movie in your cabin, or do all three!

Day 8 – Friday Dubrovnik, CroatiaKnown as the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’ and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Dubrovnik is the most underrated European city. Full of beauty and historical splendor, visit the Cathedral of the Assumption of Mary, a masterwork of stone and adorned with Venetian paintings.

Visit the famous city walls, a series of towers, bastions and fortifications surrounding the entire historical center and port. Built in the 12th century to defend the city against invaders, Dubrovnik’s 6300 feet of walls are considered some of the most beautiful and best preserved in Europe.

Finally, visit the Monastery of St. Francis whose cloister is one of the most magnificent sites in town; the Monastery also houses the oldest pharmacy in Europe, opened in 1317.

DAY 9 - Saturday VeniceThis morning it’s farewell to our new cruising friends, our Yacht Club staff, and yes, sadly our Butler. To soften the blow, we’ll whisk you from the pier to your hotel in Venice for a relaxing evening.

After check-in, walk over to St. Mark’s Square. Yes, the drinks are overpriced, but with it’s theater and live music, it’s a priceless experience.

This evening dinner is on your own.

DAY 10 - Sunday Depart Venice for USAThis morning, your included boat transfer to the Venice airport will be at the ready to begin your trip home, arriving in the USA the same day. A warm “grazie” for traveling with the Perillo Tours family and please return soon! BB
