Peridrain FabricFor concrete finishes with special requirements
What is Peridrain Fabric?Peridrain Fabric is a 100% polyester
drainage fabric for concrete finishes
with special requirements.
Peridrain Fabric is designed to be used
a number of times. 8 to 10 uses are
possible when handled and cleaned
properly.
What can Peridrain Fabric do?The fabric drains the water from the
surface zone of the concrete to reduce
the water-cement ratio. This greatly im-
proves the resistance of the surface to
chemical attacks. The result is a dense,
highly wear-resistant finish virtually free
from pore holes and cavities.
Where is Peridrain Fabric used?This fabric is used wherever the con-
crete finish has to meet special require-
ments, for example:
– Water tanks
– Sewage works
– Sewers
– Locks
– Bridges
– Dams
How is the material disposed of?Please ask your local authority about
the regulations governing the disposal
of polyester.

The test piece was prepared according to or on the basis of the provisional code of prac-tice issued by the Bundesverband Deutsche Beton- und Fertigteilindustrie e. V. (Federal Association for the German Concrete and Precast Industry), Bonn: Testing of road con-struction products made of concrete with an impermeable structure for resistance to frost-thaw salt action, January 1976 edition.

Project:Diez Stormwater Retention Tank.
PERI RUNDFLEX formwork over which
Peri drain Fabric has been stretched.
Clearly visible on the edge section are the
Peridrain edge strip and matching clips.
Particular attention needs to be paid to the
strength of the edge strip in planning and use.
Form of the tie hole. Make a crosscut with the hotknife
and staple on all the way round
(18 mm long staples). This ensures
a neat anchor point.

Peridrain FabricAssembly
General
Attaching the fabric neatly and accu-rately is required in order to achieve the best result.
AttachingMake sure the Peridrain Fabric is placed
on the formlining with the smooth,
more closely woven side facing to-
wards the concrete. The rolls are pro-
duced so that they can normally be un-
rolled with the correct side up. The
Peridrain Fabric must be laid on the
formlining so that it can be unrolled as
shown in the illustration.
TrimmingPeridrain Fabric must always be cut
with the hot cutting tool - the “hotknife”.
This prevents the fabric from fraying
and simultaneously seals the cut edg-
es. Cuts for tie holes must also be
done in this way.
Peridrain Fabric must be sta-
pled on at 50 cm intervals
(18 mm staple length).

you to cut quickly and
cleanly.

Important:Using the PERI Bio Clean release agent
is a basic requirement.
In so doing, the application quantity of
0.013 l/m2 (77 m2/l) must not be ex-
ceeded. If too much is used, the drain-
age effect will be heavily reduced.
When using PERI Bio Clean in drinking
water storage tanks, DVGW Worksheet
W 347 is to be taken into consideration.
For use in drinking water storage tanks,
make sure that the staples do not pro-
trude. If this should happen, recesses
form in the concrete surface which
could allow bacteria to accumulate.
StrikingPeridrain Fabric has a considerably high-
er degree of adhesion than standard
formlining. Depending on the type of
concrete, striking has to take place
within 72 hours.
DisposalPlease consult your local authority re-
garding the correct method of dispos-
ing the polyester.
CleaningIn order to keep the fabric’s drainage
pores fully functional, it has to be
cleaned with a high-pressure water jet
after every use. This is very important
to ensure that the effectiveness of the
Peridrain Fabric is maintained.
Cleaning is carried out
using a commercial high-
pressure water jet.
TipFor concrete placement and compac-
tion, we recommend complying with
DIN 4235 Part 2 Section 6. (Pouring layer
< 50 cm)
With RUNDFLEX, first fasten
the edge strips and timber fill-
ers to the Peridrain edge strip
clips.

Attaching to TRIO
Important:If the Peridrain Fabric is only used on
one side of the wall, a suitable filler
timber (25 mm) must be planned to be
installed between the opposite panels.
For TRIO corner panels, 65 mm thick
filler timbers must be used.
Assembly1. Screw the edge strip clips to the
12 mm thick edge strips and mount the
strips on the sides of the panels. For
TRIO corner panels, 52 mm thick timber
profiles must be used.
2. Unroll the fabric and trim allowing for
a small additional length.
3. Attach to the bottom edge of the pan-
el first with Peridrain clips (e = 30 cm).
Then tightly stretch the fabic to the oth-
er end and also attach with clips.
Stretch the fabric slightly to one side of
the panel in order to remove any creas-
es, and staple to the edge strip with
12 mm staples.
Finally, firmly stretch the Peridrain Fab-
ric and staple to the other side. On the
formlining surface, staples are required
in rows of 50 cm with spacings of
10 – 15 cm.
Peridrain edge strips are to be firmly
screwed to the edge strip clips using
Spax screws, Item no. 102109.

Attaching to RUNDFLEX
Important:When planning RUNDFLEX formwork
and determining the widths of the filler
timbers (see PERI charts), particular at-
tention should be paid to the thickness
of the edge strips used.
Peridrain Fabric must be fixed to the
panel vertically inorder to avoid any
horizontal fabric joins.
A. Attaching to inside panelsImportant:The internal element must be in a
vertical position and adjusted to the
required radius only after the Peridarin
fabric has been attached.
1. Screw the edge strip clips to the
12 mm thick edge strips or equivalent
filler timbers, and mount on the sides
of the panels.
2. Unroll the Peridrain Fabric and trim
allowing for a small additional length.
3. Staple the fabric at the bottom edge
of the panel at the front or on the back.
Then tightly stretch the fabic to the oth-
er end and staple in position. Stretch
the fabric slightly to one side of the
panel in order to remove any creases,
and staple to the edge strip with
12 mm staples. Finally, firmly stretch
the Peridrain Fabric and staple to the
other side. Clip spacings on the edges
approx. 25 cm; clips on the formlining
surface: see TRIO.

B. Attaching to outside panelsImportant:Compared to the inside panels, the out-
side panels must be already adjusted to
the required radius.
1. Screw the edge strip clips to the
12 mm thick edge strips or equivalent
filler timbers, and mount on the sides
of the panels.
2. Unroll the Peridrain Fabric and trim
allowing for a small additional length.
3. Staple the fabric at the bottom edge
of the panel at the front or on the back.
Then tightly stretch the fabic to the oth-
er end and staple in position. Staple the
fabric in the middle of the panel using
18 mm staples, stretch it from both
sides of the panel to remove any creas-
es and fix using small spacings (de-
pending on the radius but at least with
max. 50 cm spacing of the rows). Final-
ly, stretch the fabric around the corner
and staple onto the edge strips. Same
staple arrangement as for the inside
panels.
