    The Peoples Poll

  • Na#onal Telephone Survey Of Republican Voters | 2

! Na.onal Survey of 602 voters who are Republican or voted for a Republican in the 2014 midterm elec.on

! Interviews conducted using both landline and cell phones December 26-30, 2014

! Margin of Error 4.0 percentage points

! Please note that due to rounding, percentages may not add up to exactly 100%

    Methodology

  • Na#onal Telephone Survey Of Republican Voters | 3

! Over 80% of Republican voters broadly and intensely oppose Obamas recent execu?ve order on immigra?on. More than 70% of Republican voters want Congress to pass a law preven.ng any use of taxpayer

money to implement President Obamas execu.ve order. Republican voters by an astonishing 10 to one margin say they are less likely to vote for a member

of Congress who voted to allow to use taxpayer money to be used to implement the Presidents Execu?ve Order. Indeed, almost unprecedented two-thirds of Republican voters are much less likely to vote.

Nearly 90% of Republican voters agree that the President has exceeded his Cons.tu.onal authority by ac.ng without Congressional approval. Indeed three-quarters of Republicans say the President Obama is consistently ac.ng in a lawless way.

! Obamacare remains exceedingly unpopular with Republican voters Almost 90% of Republican voters oppose the Aordable Care Act and almost three-quarters strongly

oppose it. Seventy percent believe that Obamacare should be repealed outright or repealed and replaced.

! On the issues of immigra?on and Obamacare, self-iden?ed Independents who lean Republican and voted Republican in November are even more intense in their opposi?on to both than are self-iden?ed Republicans who classify themselves as not strong Republicans. Thus, those voters most responsible for the Republican landslide in November and who cons?tute one-third of Republican voters seem to be more animated on these issues than are many self-iden?ed Republicans. On these issues they seem to be forming a coali?on with outright Republican Tea Party supporters.

    Key Findings

  • Immigra.on

  • Na#onal Telephone Survey Of Republican Voters | 5

Immigra.on Reform Support Republican voters overwhelmingly and strongly oppose President Obamas recent

execu#ve ac#on on immigra#on. Tea Party voters (57%) are in 90% opposi#on, while opponents to the Tea Party and Others (43%) are 70% opposed

Would you say you support or oppose President Obamas recent execu#ve ac#on on immigra#on, which would stop certain deporta#ons and allow some illegal immigrants to

    remain in the US?

Preven.ng Amnesty Support More than seven in ten Republican voters agree Congress should stop President Obamas

gran#ng of amnesty to illegal immigrants. Opponents of President Obamas immigra#on plan argue that he has unilaterally granted amnesty to ve million illegal immigrants in the United States, without congressional approval. Under his program, illegal

immigrants would be granted driver's licenses, work permits, and other government benets.

Do you strongly agree, somewhat agree, somewhat disagree or strongly disagree with this statement: Congress should stop Obamas gran#ng of amnesty to illegal immigrants by passing a law that prevents

the administra#on from using taxpayer money to implement the execu#ve order.

Immigra.on and Special Interests Nearly half of Republican voters believe Republican leaders actually support immigra#on amnesty. Weak Republicans and Leaners are two to one in agreement with this ques#on

    (54% at yes, 27% no)

Some people believe that despite what they say, Republican leaders in Congress really support immigra#on amnesty because they are beholden to corporate special interests and

Obama Exceeding Authority Nearly nine in ten Republican voters agree that President Obama has exceeded his

Even some people who say they agree with the substance of President Obamas Execu#ve Order on immigra#on, believe that he has exceeded his Cons#tu#onal authority by ac#ng alone without Congressional approval. Immigra.on and Congressional Reelec.on More than eight in ten would be less likely to support their Representa#ves re-elec#on if they allowed taxpayer money to be spent implemen#ng the Presidents amnesty plan; almost two-thirds would be much less likely. Interes#ngly, Independents who lean Republican well exceed weak Republicans in saying they would be much less likely. If your Member of Congress voted to allow taxpayer money to be used to implement the presidents amnesty, would you be more or less likely to support his or her re-elec#on? (If
