Welcome to this glorious month. Our Lord remains ever faithful and kind
towards us. The Lord has been doing a wonderful work in us all this season:
For some, it has been the start of a new relationship with God and it is our
prayer that Christ would be fully formed in us all. For others, it has been a
time of revival and refreshing where many are returning to their first love
whilst others have come to know that the Holy Spirit exists and have
received Him (Act19:1-7) For others still, this season has been a time of
pressing on to maturity (Heb. 6:1) and many are leaving childish things
behind (1.Cor. 13:11)
We must continue in the re-discovery of the Holy Spirit and pursue an
intimate relationship with the Person of the Holy Spirit. During the month
of June, the Church celebrates Pentecost. This event - which happened as
recorded in the book of Acts 2 when the New Church gathered to celebrate
Pentecost - changed the world for ever. Here are just a few things that
happened on that day: The precious promised Holy Spirit was given: The
Holy Spirit that had once worked with the disciples (John 14:17) now came
upon them and filled them. Act.2:3; The supernatural happened: Men
began to speak languages as the Holy Spirit gave utterance – Act 2:4;
Prophecies of over two thousand years old were fulfilled – Act 2:16;
Thousands were added to the Church; power and boldness was given. It
was certainly a case of a table being spread before the disciples in the
presence of all.
As we look forward to the celebration of the day of Pentecost, I would like
to encourage you to be filled with much expectation as the disciples of old
were. A table will be spread before us in Jesus’ name. The disciples stayed
in the upper room and dwelt in unity. Please endeavour to live an “upper
room lifestyle” – living above sin. Allow Christ to live in you (Gal2:20) and
let us continue to dwell in unity as we look forward to diverse miracles,
signs and wonders as the Holy Spirit confirms the Word of God.

Transforming Lives, Influencing Change… All Powerful Hero!!!
The X-Men... The Incredible Hulk... Hancock... and Iron Man:
Surreal depictions of ordinary becoming extraordinary; of
normal becoming paranormal. Superman and Spiderman:
Average men by day and heroes by night. These are a few of the
‘superheroes’ we all know and sometimes admire. The stories
that ordinary men dreamt up and created from a deep seated
need to become exactly what they dreamt. To become
extraordinary. We write them, we watch them, we want to
become them. We want the wand that gives us ultimate power,
the cape that makes us untouchable, the will that makes us
unbreakable. We want to be the best... we want to be SUPER.
That is why everything super seems to attract our attention: That
is why our movies are entitled SUPERHERO movies. We say we
are Supermen or Superwomen and, more often than not, we
hear of Supernatural Activities.
We crave the ‘super’ because we were created to be superior in
that which is beyond the natural. If you do not believe me kindly
come with me to one of my favourite scriptures, Genesis 1:26
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:
and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over
the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and
over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” See! We
were made in the image of the One that is beyond superior: In
the image of God – the One that is SUPREME - in the image of
Elohim. Throughout scripture and throughout life we see how
superior God is... the One that has no beginning or ending. We
were made in His likeness. Now do you understand why an
ordinary life does not satisfy you?
God made us so superior that He said “Behold, I give unto you
power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power
of the enemy:…” We have power. But it is not of us, it is not our
power, it is God's power given to us for His glory. Remember
Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is
come upon you ...” Everything that we were created to do on this
earth cannot be done without the Holy Spirit. The command
God gave Adam and Eve was to have dominion and to multiply
and replenish the earth (Genesis 1:28). That is the same
command that has been left to us but in Jesus’ words we are to
'make disciples of the whole world...' we are to 'bear fruit that
lasts...' we are to '...take dominion over serpents and scorpions...
over principalities and powers... over rulers of darkness in high
places... over demons and every work of evil.' We have power.
But more than that, we have with us the One that is the bearer
of Power; the One that is the embodiment of power... the Holy
Spirit. He is here; He is with us. He is POWER. Power unto
salvation; power to overcome; power to become what God
intended; power to be more Christ-like; power to do the works
Jesus did and more; power to die, power to resurrect. WE HAVE
BEEN GIVEN POWER by the One Who is the ultimate, the one
and only SUPERHERO!!!

The Greek Priest A Greek priest is driving down to New
York to see a show, and he's stopped in
Connecticut for speeding. The state
trooper smells alcohol on his breath,
sees an empty wine bottle on the floor,
and asks,
"Sir, have you been drinking?" The
minister replies, "Just water." The
trooper asks, "Then, why do I smell
wine?" The minister looks down at the
bottle and exclaims, "Good Lord, He's
done it again!"
Praise be to God for He is forever faithful! For
those waiting on the Lord for anything, this is a great testimony which we all can plug into. My uncle Pastor Afolabi, and his wife had been married for thirty years and remained childless but they held on to the words of God that said none shall be barren in the land. They were recently blessed with a set of twins a day after their THIRTY FIRST wedding anniversary. This awesome God didn't stop at that but also made sure that He blessed them with a boy and a girl.
How great is our God!
Ecclesiastes 3:1 “…there is time for everything” If you wait on Him He'll NEVER fail you.
