HSET training grads Congratulations to Sean Martin and

Angela Sweat Robinson for completing Health, Safety and Environmental Technician (HSET), a five-week training program provided by Northern Industrial Training. The course provides training for health, safety and environmental personnel to build communication skills and the knowledge necessary to develop and maintain a safe worksite.

It is an in-depth course that teaches regulations and how they apply to the job. It also provides knowledge of how to use the tools of the trade (gas monitors) and why, and the important role permits play in communication across different worksites and work crews. Participants acquire the skills needed to protect workers while on the job and ensure their company meets occupational safety and health requirements. These skills are the abilities to effectively develop HSE plans, organize and conduct safety presentations and meetings, and carry out worksite audits and assessments on personal protective equipment.

To learn more about this and other programs, go to the Northern Industrial Training website at nitalaska.com.
