Pre Intervention Observational Study

No designated crosswalks Land on opposite side of school undeveloped During morning dropoff, 251 U-turns in school zone 226 kids mid block crossing During Afternoon pickup, 83 U-turns in school zone 107 mid block crossing 56 cars parked in desert area encouraging kids to

Pre-Intervention

Called Public Works Researched Nevada Law Met with school staff including principal,

school nurse and ground monitors Met with leadership kids Developed a plan

Intervention

3 weeks of education before and after school one on one to parents, car by car

Flyers sent home with students Video produced using leadership students Video shown school wide Telephone message sent home, made by principal Banners hung Incorporated Safe Routes to Schools messaging CHANGED TRAFFIC PATTERN
