PRESIDENT REVIEW
Pakistan Eye Bank Society which was primarily established for the cure and prevention of blindness over the years has diversified its services to include other disciplines and became an Eye & General Hospital. The hospital is equipped with standard and quality equipment with capable doctors. The Society maintains its guiding principal that there will be no compromise on quality of service with respect to patient care, equipment, processes, compliance standards and surgical results.
The Society has achieved success on a year to year basis, evident by the increasing number of patients and procedures.
While we provide quality medical services, we are well aware that that the prevention of disease is more important. The Society on a regular basis organises health education seminars and workshops to educate masses about disease and its prevention. Our primary focus is on schools so that our future is a healthy one. The Society also arranges training sessions for teachers so that they are capable to detect presence of any medical problem, as early diagnosis helps in controlling the diseases at an early stage. PEBS has conducted several workshops in the current year to educate women about family health; our gynecology department in particular educates pregnant mothers so that they have safe and healthy babies. Our health education seminars have received a good response. This health education together with medical camps helps create awareness of various diseases for the public,
On behalf of the Society I would like to thank Hino Pak Motors for the generous sponsorship of an ambulance to cater to the health service projects in the slum areas. We are also indebted to the Saylani Welfare Trust who provided a mobile operation theater so we can provide services at the doorstep of needy patients.
I am grateful to our sponsors, donors and supporters for enabling the society to attain such great success. I would also like to thank the sta of PEBS, the dedicated team of doctors & surgeons and the organizer of social events for their continued support.
