The day is drawing near to when we can reopen our doors and welcome our family back to our
building. The council has been working together to create guidelines that will allow us to return
back to an in-person service in a responsible way. We are also working to enhance our services
by live streaming our worship services on the internet for those that may be unsure of
returning, so they can continue to be involved every Sunday. This is different than what we are
doing now with Zoom calls, which has been great; but only those invited can attend currently.
Streaming allows us to open our services to all that may want to join, which is the way it should
be – both open and inviting.
I strongly suggest all members review the minutes from the past council minutes in this and all
newsletters to see what has taken place. It cannot go unsaid that this time has been difficult
for Peace’s finances, as it has to all business and non-profits, churches and other groups alike.
Giving is down and that can be seen in our finance reporting. We have been blessed to benefit
from a government assistance loan for payroll to take up some of the short fall to get us
through this period, but the help will not continue indefinitely. It is us that will keep this
mission alive. So I will ask that you give what you can and increase what you can to help keep our
mission alive.
As we return to open services, volunteers will be needed to usher and read during service and
help ensure proper cleaning at the end of services are done. We have been comfortable on our
couches and easy chairs on Sundays and while they are inviting, the time is coming to stretch
your legs and get out. I am looking forward to the day of return, the day we stand and run
forward to tomorrow.
God Bless ---Doug Erney, Church Council President

Some Thoughts for June …
There are miracles happening every day in this world. We only need to stop and look
around to see them.
Taking a walk and picking up a piece of trash by the side of the road. Volunteering at an
event that brings community together. Calling a friend and sharing a story that makes
them laugh. Teaching children about math, and reading or God. Providing a service
through your work that allows other to share their talents. Mowing your lawn. Walking
your dog. Painting a fence. Saying hello to a stranger in the grocery store. Reading a
book and learning new ideas. Paying taxes (yes, even that!).
Now how can these be miracles? Miracles are those things that we do every day that
make the world a better place. They do not need to be big things; they do not need to
change the whole world in one big event. They are miracles because we are created by
God and we exist to do them and we care enough to do them. We are the miracle.
So, look around and what will your miracle be today? What miracle will you see today?
Keep your head held high and know that God is here and is proud of what and who we
are. So, work and live to make God proud. And always remember to keep the lines of
communication open … be thankful always and pray often.
