The policewomen performed the same roles and responsibilities as the man in upholding peace and harmony of the country. The uniform worn by either the lady officers of personnel level in the 1970’s, symbolized the image and the appropriateness of the duties performed in keeping up with the current needs.

The uniform worn consisted of light blue short-sleeved blouse and skirt, black leather belt and peak cap, with the Royal Military Police (RMP) badge. Among the accessories included buttons bearing the RMP inscriptions, lanyards, shoulder title of the RMP and black handbag.

The Unfederated Malay states (Perlis, Kedah. Kelantan, Terengganu, and Johor) also had their own police force uniform each depicting their characters. The Johore state police uniform for example had similarities to that of Terengganu and Kelantan which also wore the same long-sleeved shirt, breeches, headgear, and pants. Meanwhile accessories such as badges, hat, belt buckle, buttons, shoulder badges and police number pinned onto their shirt collar each identified through its design features of the respective state.
