“The Meddler” Sponsored by Life Care Center of

Michigan City With a new iPhone, an apartment near the Grove, and a comfortable

bank account left to her by her beloved late husband, Marnie Minervini

has happily relocated from New Jersey to Los Angeles to be near her

daughter Lori, a successful (but still single) screenwriter, and smother

her with motherly love. But when the dozens of texts, unexpected vis-

its, and conversations dominated by unsolicited advice force Lori to

draw strict personal boundaries, Marnie finds ways to channel her eter-

nal optimism and forceful generosity to change the lives of others – as

well as her own – and find a new purpose in life.

Rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America for brief drug content.

Our very own Jack McGann had an article

published in the New York Times entitled:

“Becoming Bilingual: It’s an Asset, Not a

Waste.” The article spoke specifically about

taking language classes here at the M.C. Sen-

are pretty fantastic too so thank you Jack for

the acknowledgement!

Director’s Corner In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Birthday this month, I am re-printing this poem written by our very own George Neagu about Dr. King. Happy New Year! Tara

The history of man clearly

Shows of those who lived

There are men of special birth

Whom we regard with special worth.

Unique in this small tribe of men

We offer our high salute,

In solemn joy recalling once again,

What Dr. King did then.

With giant heart he led the fight

For social justice in our land,

With bravery he lit the light

That brought our conscience into sight.

With power-packed words did he reveal

The essence of the Cause,

In sonorous tones he made us feel

That America was still unreal.

With dedication from the soul

He braved the bottles and the bricks,

With love he sought to make our nation whole

And would not stop until he reached his goal.

Frequent jailings could not restrain

The Soul Force of this man,

Nor could water hose or club detain

Beliefs and ideals of his brain.

The Drum Major lives on, as we pause

To join birthday celebration,

To honor the man and his cause,

So deserving of applause.

Yet those who knew him would agree

The greatest birthday gift of all,

Is social action where need be

To end injustice that you see

So let our song be from a grateful nation

Happy Birthday, Dr. King !!!

Let us sing with great elation

In honor of your creation!!!
