Canskate & Pre-STAR Skate Canada’s flagship program. For decades Canskate has been teaching the best skaters in Canada how to skate. Our Canskate program (Stages 1-4) and Pre-STAR program (Stages 5-7) are our dynamic learn-to-skate programs that focus on fun, participation and basic skill development for all ages.

Junior+Senior STARSkate Skills, Tests, Achievement & Recognition. Offers skaters of all ages the opportunity to develop solid fundamental ice skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating. STARSkate teaches figure skating skills in a group and/or private lesson format. Lessons are delivered in a progressive and sequential manner and include awards and incentives. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system.

We offer lots of ways to keep up with club news!

Emails from [email protected] and our club bulletin board at the Plex!

The SSSC is looking forward to another fun filled year. We are excited to be hosting a number of special events including Ice Dreams, Strut Your Stuff and Battle of the Blades. These events are fun for our skaters and are a significant source of revenue for the club, helping to offset costs over a number of years. We are also running the main gate at Pumpkinfest which results in a donation to the club. To make sure each of these events is a success we are asking each Canskate family to volunteer for one or more events and each Junior/Senior family to volunteer for two or more events over the course of the year. More information is available when you register. Indicate which events you are interested in volunteering for and we’ll reach out with more details and available shifts as the events get closer. During the skating season the SSSC

will run a few select fundraising campaigns to help offset skating costs. We encourage our skating families to participate and share on social media. Watch for Little Caesars, Beefway and Cinnabon campaign details.

Visit Edees Place in Listowel for all your skating gear!

1180 Wallace Ave N, Listowel, ON N4W 1M5. Toll free: 1-800-399-0282.

***If you are going for a fitting its best to call 24 hours ahead of your visit to make an appointment.

Now is the time to try on those skates from last season or make plans to buy some new ones! Be sure to fit your skates properly. Ensure that you're wearing a pair of thin socks that you would typically use for figure skating, when you try on the skates. Your toes should not be bunched up at the tip, and the foot should not feel squeezed into the skate at the sides. Toes should be able to slightly wiggle.
