From the Pastor’s Desk 150th Anniversary Concert • On Sunday, May 21st at 4:00 p.m., the St. Rose Choir will present a free concert celebrating the 150th Anniversary of St. Rose. A musical journey through our church's past, the program will feature Vivaldi's Gloria, a beloved masterwork for choir and orchestra, along with works by Josef Rheiberger, Anton Bruckner, Morten Lauridsen, and Eric Whitacre. Tickets are not required. A light reception will follow the concert. All are invited to this in- spiring concert commemorating the heritage of St. Rose Church. Parish BB Riverboat Cruise • All parishioners and friends are invited to join us for dining and cruising on the Belle of Cincinnati riverboat on Sunday, June 11th. Boarding begins at 6:00 p.m.; the boat will sail at 7:00 p.m. and dock at 9:30 p.m. Tickets cost $48/person, including dinner. The Lay Pastoral Ministry Program is sponsored by the Archdiocese and equips lay Catholics with the knowledge and skills you need to evangelize, teach and serve more effectively. Evening and Saturday classes, flexible components and part time studies let you maintain family and work commitments while you discern God’s call and prepare for new opportunities. Cincinnati locations include the main campus in Mt. Washington and Good Shepherd Community in Montgomery, with classes beginning in late August. There is no admission charge for this event alt- hough a free will donation will be gratefully accepted to defray expenses. Please register on-line (cincinnatiourladyoffatima.com) to ensure adequate seating and the purchase of optional lunches are available, and feel free to telephone the event sponsor Keith Walker (513-351-9800) if you would like to discuss any as- pect of what promises to be a very special and blessed event. Sr. Mary Imelda bakes for weeks leading up to the Little Sisters of the Poor Annual Bake Sale on Mother’s Day weekend. What better way to show your appreciation for your mother or grandmother than through goodies! The Bake Sale will run May 12th, 13th, and 14th from 10am-4pm daily at St. Paul’s Home for the Aged, 476 Riddle Road, 45220 in Clifton. So Jesus said again, "Amen, amen, I say to you, I am the gate for the sheep. All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the gate. Whoever enters through me will be saved, and will come in and go out and find pasture. A thief comes only to steal and slaughter and destroy; I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly."
