The Prayers of the People
Intercessor:
Let us pray in union with our risen Lord, in the power of the Holy Spirit, the Counselor, saying: LORD, have mercy.
For the peace of Christ, his own gift to his apostles, let us pray to the LORD. LORD, have mercy.
For all who hold authority in this world and in the church that the Holy Spirit may guide them into the ways of justice, peace, and truth, for the good of all people everywhere, let us pray to the LORD. LORD, have mercy.
For those whose hearts are troubled, through hunger, fear, poverty, sickness, loneliness, or for whatever reason—especially those on our prayer list—that the love of Christ may make its home with them and fill them with all peace, let us pray to the LORD. LORD, have mercy.
For all who have been baptized into Christ’s death and resurrection, that we may love Christ and keep his word, and be made one with each other with Christ in God, let us pray to the LORD. LORD, have mercy.
For the whole creation, men, women, children, plants, animals, and the wonders of the universe, that we may all in our varied ways give praise to the God who made and loves us, let us pray to the LORD. LORD, have mercy.
For those who till the earth and those who fish in the waters to bring food to the world, and for all whose hand is open to give bread to the hungry, that all may enjoy the fruits of the earth, let us pray to the LORD. LORD, have mercy.
Silence
Celebrant: Lord Jesus Christ, you have sent your Holy Spirit to teach us and to bring to remembrance all you have done in the power of God. Be known to us, as you have promised. Hear our prayers, grant us your peace and love, and give us those things which we need in this life. You live and reign for ever and ever. Amen.

EDUCATION FOR MINISTRY (EfM) Every baptized person is called to ministry. The Education for Ministry (EfM) program provides people from
all walks of life with the education “to be” Christians and to carry out their ministry. All Christians need a
Christian education which supports their faith and prepares them to express that faith in day-to-day events.
EfM is a worldwide program developed by the School of Theology of the University of the South. It holds
before us that the foundation for bringing Christ to the world lies in a church empowered by active,
theologically articulate laity.
Thousands of people have completed this program. Students enroll one year at a time, can transfer almost
anywhere in the United States and many foreign countries and can obtain 18 Continuing Education Credits
per year by participating.
For more information call Linda Nelson, Mentor, at 951-850-2328.
