FitTrack Gold Installation

If you have failed an installation attempt from our FitTrack Gold install files, and after the install you see a database error and cannot open the software, the real issue is that SQL Express did not install properly. In some instances with specific computer configurations, it will be required to install SQL Express 2008 outside of our installation files. This document Will walk you through the steps necessary to install SQL Express, and then run our installer. While this is a lengthy document, the procedure is not difficult. This document provides all the screen shots you will encounter so that it will be easier to walk through the process.

Remove the failed install files

(If you have already done this portion, proceed to the next page)

1. First you will need to remove the files that have placed on your computer during the failed install.

a. In Control Panel, select Add/Remove programs, and uninstall FitTrack Gold.

b. Delete the folder: C:\Program Files[x86], OHD\FitTrack Gold. (Note that the x86 may or may not be a part of your path, depending on the operating system.)

c. Delete folder C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.10. FITTRACKGOLD.

i. If this folder does not exist, proceed.

ii. If you cannot delete this folder, you must uninstall SQL Express.

1. Do this the same way you removed FitTrack Gold, but select Microsoft SQL Server. During the install, you will choose the instance of FITTRACKGOLD, remove all components of this instance.

2. After SQL Express is uninstalled, you can then delete this folder before proceeding.

2. Restart your computer.

3. Proceed with the installation.

Manually Install SQL Express

1. Download SQL Express from website: http://www.microsoft.com/en-

us/download/details.aspx?id=1695

2. Choose the download option SQLEXPR_x86_ENU.exe

3. Select on the arrow next to Save, and select Save as

Browse and save to your computer’s Desktop

4. Double-click on the downloaded file, and follow prompts to start installation.

5. Click on Installation link

6. Click on “New SQL Server stand-alone installation or add features to an existing

installation”

7. Now, setup will check for problems that might occur while installation.

If Support rule does not pass the minimum configuration, it will not proceed further.

If it passes, click on “OK” button.

8. The product key screen will appear next

9. Click on Next, and License Agreement Form will open.

10. Click on Next, for Setup to install Setup Support Files.

11. To start installation, click on Install and the below screen will appear.

12. Setup will check for Support Rules

If Support rule does not pass the minimum configuration, it will not proceed further.

If it passes, click on Next.

13. Select features which are need to install

Click on Select All and click on Next. The Shared feature directory auto populates

but this path can be changed.

Please Note: - If the user does not select all the features displayed into the Features window and clicks on the Next Button, it will display the following error message : There are Validation errors on this page”. Click OK to close this dialog box. Review errors at the bottom setup page then provide valid parameters or Click Help for more information.

14. For our standard install procedures, type in FITTRACKGOLD as the Named Instance.

Click on Next.

15. Set up will display how much disk space status & requirements. Click Next.

16. In Server configuration section select “NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE” as the

account name if the computer is on a network. Select “NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM” or “NT

AUTHORITY\LOCAL SERVICE” as the account name ONLY if the computer is a

standalone machine and is not connected to a network.

Click on Next Button

17. In this screen, select Mixed Mode as the Authentication Mode.

Enter a password and confirm it. For OHD default, use ohdusa@123. Click on Add Current

User and the current Window login user will be displayed in the “Specify SQL Server

administrators” window.

Please Note:- 1) The Default User ID provided by SQL is “sa”.

2) The Password entered above as is the same password while installing the

“FITTRACKGOLD” Application for the same SQL Instance.

3) The user is advised to remember the Named Instance, User name and Password.

Click on Next.

18. On this screen do not check any option and click on the Next button.

19. Before installing SQL Server, set up will check for all rules.

If Installation rules do not pass the minimum configuration, it will not proceed further.

If it passes, click on Next.

20. Setup will provide a summary of the details of the SQL Installation that will be carried out.

Click on Install.

21. Now, installation process will start

22. Below screen will show status for installation. Status as Success will mean a successful

installation. Click Next.

23. When SQL Server 2008 installation is completed successfully, Click on Close.

24. Close SQL server Installation Center by closing the window.

Note:- After this SQL Installation, the Installer will install the WinHelp.exe as per the OS.

If it is already installed on the system, it will skip the WinHelp.exe installation.

Commencement of “FitTrack-Gold” installation will happen after WinHelp.exe is either

installed or detected.

25. Install FitTrack Gold from install files.

26. Accept License Agreement, click Next.

27. Select Custom Install.

30. On the Database Configuration screen, select the database that you created during the

SQL Express install.

31. Type in the Username and Password that you used when creating the database. If you

used the suggested default, this will be Username: sa; Password: ohdusa@123. Be sure

to un-check the Update Password box since you are not updating the password here.

32. Click on Test Connection, and this will verify that your connection and login credentials

are correct.

33. Click on OK twice, and you are finished! Open up FitTrack Gold and go to work!
