SLEEVE GASTRECTOMYINTERNATIONAL CONSENSUS SUMMIT FOR

New York City!December 6-8,2012®
The surgical technique of laparoscopic sleevegastrectomy continues to evolve and therefore,we as surgeons need to continue to keep currentwith the changes in order to deliver our patientsthe best possible care.
The 4TH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CONSENSUS SUMMIT FOR SLEEVE GASTRECTOMY
(ICSSG) promises to continue its established history of bringing together
the world’s best known surgeons in the field of bariatric surgery to discuss
the most current studies and demonstrate the latest techniques in
laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy.
This meeting generates an audience of more than 325 surgeons, and this
year is expected to be even bigger and better as we once again join
together in New York City on December 6-8, 2012.
For high-risk obese patients seeking weight loss surgery, such as gastric
band, gastric bypass, or duodenal switch, it may be safer and more
effective to conduct a laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) as the primary
procedure, or as the first stage of a two-stage procedure. LSG was initially
introduced for the super obese patient in order to reduce the perioperative
risk, but results have shown that the LSG procedure is as effective as gastric
bypass in EWL% over a three-year period.
This summit includes:
• Live surgery observation
• Full-day course of didactic sessions and case reviews
• Consensus panel on effectiveness of LSG as a primary operation.
