1. Introduction
The code 442KNXTC4 implements both the communication part (physical + data-link layer) and the application part of one/four Konnex points. The application part detects the rising and falling edges of the available touch buttons and transfers this information, together with the operating mode (hereinafter called "function") to the communication part, which manages the logical and physical interface with the line Konnex. The 442KNXTC4 is built in a two-module "hidden" enclosure of the System 44, and is mechanically compatible with all other devices of the same system. It is intended to be installed on the back of finishing plates.

2.6. Sensitive front area
The front area is divided into nine sensitive areas. In programming phase, it is possible to choose the areas which can be activated (a max of four) and which functions assign to each area.
2.7. Configuration and installation
The device can be configured by using the application program ETS (Engineering Tool Software) and the application program 442KNXTC4AP, made available by Ave. No additional software tools or plugins are required. For more information on ETS, visit also www.knx.org.
2.7.1. Configuration
The functionality of the device depends on the settings determined by ETS4 (or later) and the application program Ave AP442KNXTC4 ##. Knxprod (## = version), which can be downloaded from the www.ave.com site. With the application program, it is possible to upload the device in a new project and configure all the product operation parameters, which will be described in detail later in this manual.
2.7.2. P1 programming Button
It is accessible by means of a 3x1mm slotted screwdriver, through the opening specially crafted on the side of the device (see fig.1b). It allows the programming of the device (see par. 3).

3. Structure of the application program The structure of the application program is schematically shown in the flow chart in fig.3. In the continuation of this document, N indicates the umpteenth key/LED of the capacitive keyboard: therefore, the object of communication

3.1. General section 3.1.1. Active columns
The front of the device is divided into nine positions, grouped into three columns of three positions. The central column (2) is an alternative to the two outer columns (1 and 3). The product is configured by default with the active central column (fig. 4b).

3.1.2. Positions

3.1.6. Acustic signallings At the command recognition, the device emits a short confirmation sound (click). It is possible to deactivate it by appropriately programming the corresponding parameter with ETS. Other two different acoustic signals can also be activated by a communication object coming from the Bus, for example when a generic alarm activates or there is a call at the entrance of the house. The interruption of the acoustic signal will take place at the reception of a different object of communication, or at the touch of any of the front keys.

The activation of the alarm condition appears to have priority over the call condition. Therefore, if a call signal were in execution, the alarm could impose itself: the opposite is not possible.
3.1.7. Plate cleaning function (temporary inhibition)
To enable the cleaning of the front glass plate without continuous activations of the associated outputs, it is possible to temporarily inhibit the operation of the device by sending to it a temporary exclusion message. The function can be excluded in advance, during installation phase by means of the ETS application.
