Welcome

2016 Timbits Jamboree Welcome to all Participants! It is with great pleasure that I welcome you all to the 7th annual PCRM Timbit Jamboree. We are looking forward to having over 600 athletes, coaches, families and volunteers join us for another weekend of fun on the ice at the Port Coquitlam Rec Centre. We at PCRMRA are proud to host this wonderful tradition of celebrating the season’s accomplishments for our young athletes. For the first time, this tournament falls on the same weekend as the BC Winter games so many of our familiar faces will be in Penticton ‘Going for Gold’, something that many of YOU may aspire to one day! This sport will offer you so many terrific opportunities to play at many different levels, opportunities to travel and set goals. I would also like to thank our fantastic Tournament Committee for their many hours of dedication to make this a First Class Event. A tournament like this relies on many volunteers organizing schedules, carnival, prizes, goodies, and so much more. We at PCRM take great pride in always having volunteers show such a commitment to this Tournament to make it a Highlight of the Ringette season. Finally, we can’t thank Tim Horton’s enough for their generous support throughout the season and this weekend. Make sure you play hard, cheer loudly and enjoy the tournament! Barb Mulligan

U-7/9 (Bunny) Rules

o Teams must be ready to go on the ice 10 minutes before the game time and be ready to start playing within 5 minutes of the game time. In the event of unforeseen circumstances that affect a team‘s ability to start their game within 5 minutes of the scheduled start or adjusted starting time, the Tournament Director or designate shall declare a default.

o There shall be no more than five (5) team staff allowed on the bench at any one time. o Each game will be 50 minutes in length. All teams will be given a 3 minute warm up and there will be two 16

minute periods with a buzzer every 2 minutes for a line change. Although the clock will stop for a line change or player injury, it will not stop for any other whistles that may occur during the play. It is because of this that we would like for the teams to be as quick as possible in their line changes. It is up to the discretion of the referee to allow the clock to run during line changes if they feel that there is not enough time to get the entire game in.

o In games where there are 2 bunny games back to back, there will not be an ice clean in between games. The second game will start 5 minutes after the first game.

o The home team is responsible for supplying the scorekeeper while the visiting team will be responsible for timekeeping. The home team is the team that is on the right side of the schedule.

o The home team is responsible for picking up the game sheets from the tournament table before the start of the game. Score sheets must be signed by ALL team staff participating behind the bench no less than 15 minutes before a game time and may be picked up after the game at the tournament table. Please bring all copies back to the tournament table upon completion of the game.

o The Gretzky rule is in effect. A player is allowed to score only 3 goals per game. Any goal after their 3rd will be disallowed and the ring will be placed at the center for the free pass to the other team.

o At no time shall the score be posted on the scoreboards with more than a 5 goal spread. o As always, a maximum of 2 coaches are allowed on the ice to assist their players. BCRA rules state that all

coaches wear appropriate helmets while on the ice. o All U9 players should rotate through the goalie position at the time of regular line changes. Goalie pads are not

permitted in U9 but all players should use a goalie stick while tending goal. o After the game is finished, please exit the dressing room in a timely fashion to allow the next team to enter. o HAVE FUN!

Spectator’s

Code of Conduct

o Remember that children play organized sports for their own fun. They are not there to entertain you, and they are not miniature pro athletes.

o Be on your best behaviour. Don’t use profane language or harass players, coaches or officials.

o Applaud good plays by your own team and the visiting team.

o Show respect for your team’s opponents. Without them there would be no games.

o Never ridicule or scold a child for making a mistake during a competition.

o Leave the coaching to the coaches.

o Condemn the use of violence in all forms.

o Respect the officials’ decisions.

o Encourage players to always play according to the rules.

PCRM TIMBITS Jamboree. Take time to say “Thanks!” to a volunteer at one of the many events and activities.

o The home team is responsible for picking up the game sheets from the tournament table before the start of the game. Score sheets must be signed by ALL team staff participating behind the bench no less than 15 minutes before a game time and may be picked up after the game at the tournament table.

o Please bring all copies of the game sheet back to the tournament table upon completion of the game.

o At no time shall the score be posted on the scoreboards with more than a 7-goal spread.

o The Gretzky rule is in effect. A player is allowed to score only 3 goals per game. Any goal after their 3rd will be disallowed and the ring will be placed at the center for the free pass to the other team.

o After the game is finished, please exit the dressing room in a timely fashion to allow the next team to enter.
