Board design  

Objective: Design two boards­ Board 1 and Board 2.  

File format: The file must be saved using gerber. Yle needed layers are the following: 

● Top layer: pcbname.GTL 

● Bottom layer: pcbname.GBL 

● Solder Stop Mask top: pcbname.GTS 

● Solder Stop Mask Bottom pcbname.GBS 

● Silk Top: pcbname.GTO 

● Silk Bottom pcbname.GBO 

● Board Outline: pcbname.GML/GKO 

● NC Drill: pcbname.TXT 

Note:   

● The board edge must be in GML o GKO file 

● The Gerber file must be in RS­274X format 

 

Board size: ¿What would be the best size? 

● 5cm Max * 5cm Max 

● 5cm Max * 10cm Max 

● 5cm Max * 15cm Max 

● 10cm Max * 10cm Max 

● 10cm Max * 15cm Max 

Board thickness: What thickness do you recommend: 1.6, 1.2, 1.0 or.0.8 mm 

Layers: 2 

 

 

 

 

Board 1 For this part, use image 1 as reference. 

Design a board (A) like an arduino protoshield, without the reset button 

In the opposite side to the USB and power connector in the arduino, prolong the board and fit to the                                       connector B.

Part 2 For this part, use image 2 as reference. 

Design a board to expand arduino pin ports, connecting the Part 1 with the A connector 

Over the board is installed a serial converter (B) 

In the D and E connector area, it must be possible use one or the other. 

In the C connector area to install a expansion pin. 

In the F connector for the power supply.
