The complex and extensive data structures o SAP systems requireconsequent and regular data archiving to ensure high per ormanceand system availability. Data compression in the archive les guaran-tees the necessary system per ormance or users at minimal expenses.

In the In ormation Li ecycle Management (ILM) processes usersdemand ast, integrated data access in dialog and evaluation appli-cations within the li etime o customer and settlement in ormation.Similar requirements result rom legal regulations or data accessand examination o digital documents (GDPdU, IRS, etc.). How-ever, a ter archiving this data is only available on a limited basis viastandard SAP transactions.

Analogue to SAP standard transactions, the PBS archive add onCISU enables ast and integrated access to both resident data romthe database as well as archived data rom SAP archive les. Thisallows unlimited use o all eatures o the SAP module or customerservice and settlement within a fexible design o the ILM concept.

You can access the PBS archive add ons via role-based menusor via the SAP Customer Interaction Center. With the integrated

PBS archive transactions or displaying IS-U/CCS documents,

archive data (archive indicator *) and database data are simultane-ously displayed in the amiliar way. It is thus very easy to selectand present data. The high level o networking in the transactions

enables you to navigate directly to subsequent and previous docu-ments within the IS-U module as well as to linked documents romother SAP modules. This applies to both resident and archived data.

Furthermore, you can branch rom each ISU-U/CCS transactiondirectly to linked original documents which are stored in externalarchive systems.

Large amounts o settlement-relevant documents are created in IS-U

settlement, invoicing and in the contract accounts. To reduce the systemload it is essential to archive this data a ter a certain time period.

The PBS archive add on CISU o ers com ortable display o archived andresident documents within settlement, invoicing and contract accountsand enables navigation within the complete document fow o documentchains. The archive access does not strain the SAP database and thushelps to reduce the system load.

Display of Archived FI-CA DocumentsThe SAP contract accounting FI-CA is a subledger accounting unctionthat is designed to process large volumes o documents and contains

typical customer accounting eatures.

Contract accounting is an integral component o the industry solution“SAP or Utilities“. The PBS archive add on CISU thus contains the solutionor contract accounting as a similar integral component.

Display transactionsIn addition to single document display various other transactions areavailable, such as the display o • account balances,• document changes,• installment plans,• open item lists and• document lists or the reconciliation key.

In addition to the database data, all display transactions retrieve archived FI-CA documents.

Complete IntegrationAll navigation eatures which are available or the display o database data

by SAP standard means are supported or archived FI-CA data by PBSeatures as well. For example, you can branch to an archived FI-CA docu-ment either rom the corresponding IS-U print document as well as romthe (archived) FI document display via the menu item “original document“

when using the PBS archive add on CFI.

Current legal requirements, such as GDPdU, IRS, SOX, CFICI, ... de ne

the need to extract SAP application data, especially accounting data,rom the SAP system to data carriers which can be used or externalprocessing e.g. by tax authorities.

Solutions for Data Extraction in CISU Data extraction can be implemented easily and on a very variable basisusing the PBS archive add on CISU unctionality. Various data can beexported rom the database and rom the archive at the time when itis required. This data includes• FI-CA document data,• settlement and print documents,• master data or business partners,

• any customer and customizing tables.

Document-related Extracts With the special PBS extraction programs variable extracts can becreated at the level o document lines. This enables to limit the data

volume or the extraction very speci cally, e.g. to a business partner.The elds which are contained in such an extraction data structurecan be selected very fexibly via the ABAP List Viewer (ALV).

Master Data Extraction In addition to the document data, a program or the extraction o master data or the business partner is also part o the delivery. The

data volume and the elds to be selected can be speci ed selectively.

All Tables and Customizing Data Another extraction enables to export data rom any table and anycorresponding archiving object. These can be, or example, customer-speci c tables or Customizing tables. Corresponding table pools arealready prede ned to extract Customizing data.

Extension of SAP Standard Extractors The SAP standard unctionality provides di erent but relativelyrestrictive extraction programs or IS-U. These have been enhancedin a PBS version. Access to the archive data has been added and the

selection criteria have been extended.

Interface to the Analysis Program A tool to generate an XML description le is also contained in theso tware package. This ensures com ortable import to a PC-basedanalysis program, such as IDEA or ACL.

List Display of Extract Data in the SAP System With the PBS DataViewer you can display the content o created ex-tract les, enabling you to generate a report or each data extraction.This report displays the le content in an ALV list and enables you to

veri y the extracted data within the SAP system.

Administration Boards

Administration o the PBS indices includes generation, deletion,activation, deactivation and scanning activities.

The additional subdivision into main and long-term archiveenables to reduce the PBS indexing program runtime andoptimizes the PBS index management.

The CFICA administration board manages the PBS index ea-tures which are related to the archiving object FI_MKKDOC

You can set up and manage the PBS indices using the CISU Admin-istration Board in the areas o invoicing and settlement. The CFICAAdministration Board can be used or the contract accounting .

Supplementary ToolsSupplementary tools are delivered with the PBS archiveadd on CISU. These enable direct access to archive dataand support adaption to customer-speci c evaluationsas well as adaption to oreign languages that are notcontained in the PBS standard delivery.

PBS Archive Browser

The transaction /PBS/SE16 is created in the same way as the standard transaction SE16. In addition,it contains a PBS-speci c parameter (1-2-3 parameter)to choose the data source. This enables to displaydata either rom the database and / or the archive les.

The transaction allows you to have a quick overviewo archived or resident document number ranges andenables you to nd them easily.

Energy Data Management Energy Data Management (SAP IS-U-EDM) is com-pletely integrated in IS-U/CCS and manages intervalreading, settlement o energy quantities, schedulemanagement and settlement o interval energyconsumption.

Pro les are preprocessed and trans erred to SAP IS-Usettlement via an internal inter ace.

The PBS solution provides the well-known accessconvenience when displaying archived EDM pro le

values without additional load on the SAP database– a practical enhancement related to the vast data

volumes in this eld.

PBS Translation Tool PBS programs are delivered in German, English and French.Adaption to additional local languages can be achieved viathe PBS Translation Tool. With the SAP system‘s multi-language capabilities, the necessary text elements and text

pools are copied rom corresponding SAP standard pro-grams, dynpros etc.

PBS-speci c text elements must be translated with trans-action SE63.

PBS Archive Access TutorialThe PBS Archive Access Tutorial provides developers withcomprehensive support or complex select statements in cus-tomer-speci c reports i archived data needs to be accessed.

All PBS indexed archiving objects are explained in detail with index number, single and interval access in the suppliedexample programs. These can be executed immediately.

PBS Conversion ToolThis tool supports you in adapting your own reports or

accessing archived data.

The original reports are copied to new ones. The automati-cally generated PBS unction modules enable the additionalaccess to archive data.

However, automatic conversion is limited to rather simpleaccess paths. Complex access paths (e.g. JOINs) or nestedprograms need to be postprocessed manually.
