Course Overview

This course is designed to inform the learner of pertinent information needed to

successfully implement a toy distribution. Learners will be guided through the

Key Success Factors, and the General Environmental Analysis required to

successfully implement the toy distribution.

An extensive review of Political, Economic, Social, Technological,

Environmental, and Legal perspectives will be carefully considered, and

applied.

Target Audience

The target audience for this course are those who have a desire to help others. Philanthropy

has to be of genuine interest to the learner as extensive time and effort is needed to successfully

implement an event of this magnitude. Computer knowledge will assist greatly as social

media, marketing, and email correspondence will play an important role in the planning

phases.

Delivery Modality

Delivery modality will consist of various tools such as video presentations, PowerPoint, and

handbook. The course is comprised of a 10-day training session in 4 hour intervals per day.

Learning Goals

• Completion of General Environmental Analysis

• List the components of a General Environmental Analysis

• Describe how the components of a General Environmental Analysis affect the toy

distribution.

• Completion of Key Success Factors

• List the components of a Key Success Factors.

• Describe how the components of a Key Success Factors affect the toy distributions.

Project Based Objective

• The aforementioned objectives are project-based that coincides with critical thinking skills. A lot of thought, and planning must go into the planning process for a toy distribution. For instance, marketing or soliciting donations too soon may be a bad idea. The perfect timing would be during the last week of November, however, correspondence should be sent during the month of October.

• This dynamic would be taught to students by way of practical exercises such as having the learner list potential sponsors that could be of benefit to the toy distribution. The facilitator will demonstrate this, and then provide the same script to the learners to follow suit.

Instructional Strategy

Instructional strategies would consist of an analytical approach. Educating the learners on how to properly research

statistics would be Lesson 1. The purpose of a toy distribution is to serve children in underserved areas, thus, the organizer

would have to identify said areas. Once the areas are identified, contacting social workers at the schools in the community

will provide additional statistics such as the amount of children, sex, and grade. This will reveal the amount of toys

we’d have to collect, and if we should reach out to additional schools. The enrollment count at each school varies, thus,

if you have a school with 600 students, it won’t be necessary to continue marketing efforts from the perspective of who

will receive the gifts. Learners will also be informed about the amount of toys versus the amount of children. For

example, if you have 800 toys, only 400 children should be registered. This is to ensure every child receives a toy, despite

the efforts to require parents to register children prior to the toy distribution, there’s always going to be additional

children that present for a gift.

Course Development

• The development of the course training will be comprised of my volunteer

team. A spreadsheet will be compiled of all of the important key success

factors defined by certified 501c3 Board Members from various

organizations, this will serve as a guide from start to finish. The volunteer

team will also assist with the FAQs section of this course as these seem to be

very helpful, it will answer questions that are often asked regarding toy

distributions.

SEVEN KEY SUCCESS FACTORS FOR A SUCCESSFUL TOY DISTRIBUTION

Assignments | Assessments

• Assignments will consist of contacting businesses, and potential private donors. If the learner successfully recruit new donors this is considered passing. If the learner is having difficulty with recruiting new sponsors, facilitators will work with the learner to evaluate how they can successfully recruit donors. The recruitment of volunteers is also a part of this assignment. The final assessment would consist of the learner hosting their very first distribution, assistance from the learning team will be present to ensure success. The training description, goals, objectives and assignments align well as the course will guide the learner throughout the process of the implementing a toy distribution. The goal is the end result and the objectives will help you get there. The assignments will identify areas of improvement such as the inability to secure sponsorships will halt the success of the toy distribution. Sponsorships is a major driving force in the non-profit sector.

Evaluation | Feedback

• Evaluation instruments to assess the effectiveness of the learner can be online assessments that consist of True False, Multiple Choice, and Matching questions. An online student satisfaction survey will be given to grade the course, and provide faculty feedback. Survey Monkey is a great tool for this feature as the tool can provide detailed statistics based upon the input.

• The evaluation data collected will be used to enhance the course and product development opportunities. Learners may suggest additional tools that can enhance the course, this can open the door for additional courses for the future.
