It’s been more than 75 years since Pautzke Bait Company laid the foundation for defining trout fishing inNorth America. It’s been an amazing journey since Dad Pautzke began cooking salmon eggs on his small kitchenstove in the early 1930s. From that h umble beginning, our world famous BALLS O’ FIRE salmon eggs have servedcountless trout anglers across the globe. We’ve sold more than 85 million jars of BALLS O’ FIRE eggs thanks to theproduct quality and craftsmanship that has maintained our position as the oldest bait company in North Amer ica.

As the fishing industry evolved, we’ve evolved, too. In our fourth generation of family ownership, Pautzke is nowowned by Casey Kelley, the grandson of Keith Williams - the genius behind our flaming red salmon eggs - and hasadded a key new member to the family, Director of Operations Chris Shaffer. As the World’s Bait Company,Pautzke has systematically released old family recipes, used new science and expanded our line from a mere threeproducts less than a decade ago, to more than 50 today.
