HJMS - School Improvement Action Plan
SMART Goal 1: During the 2020-2021 school year, we will increase the percentage of face-to-face and virtual students who achieve grade level midpoint in 6th grade from 31.6% to 50%, 7th grade 31.4% to 50%% and 8th grade from 38.2% to 50%% as measured by/starting with data obtained after the 1st Reading Inventory administration in Aug 2020.
Strategy/Initiative: Increased eyes on text, direct vocabulary instruction, reading/reading comprehension strategies (PALS, Reciprocal Teaching, Collaborative Reasoning) use of technology-based resources (MyOn, USA Test Prep, Achieve3000, System 44, Read 180) in reading connections and literacy-focused NBI.

HJMS - School Improvement Action PlanSMART Goal 4: During the 2020-2021 school year, we will decrease the percentage of students who serve 1+ days in ISS and/or 1+ days in OSS to less than our 2019-2020 school average. We will compare this data in 2/2021 to 2/2020 (our last calculation due to pandemic). We will continue tracking through May 2021.
