DAY 1: APRIL 16 (SAT) – MIAMI Welcome to Miami! Hotel has a free courtesy shuttle from the airport. Welcome drink and briefing at 6pm. DAY 2: APRIL 17 (SUN) – MIAMI – HAVANA, CUBA After a grab-n-go breakfast head to the Miami Airport for your CHARTER FLIGHT to Havana, Cuba. Orientation tour of Havana including a photo stop at Revolution Square, LUNCH at a local restaurant in Old Havana. Walk through Old Havana with Architect and enjoy a discussion on the different types of architecture, process of renovations, where they get their funding, and future projects. The remainder of the afternoon is free. This evening take a ride in an OLD STYLER CAR to your welcome dinner. (B, L, D) DAY 3: APRIL 18 (MON) – HAVANA Visit to HEMINGWAY’S FINCA VIGIA and discuss Hemingway’s love of Cuba, how his house was preserved/saved, see his boat El Pilar and discuss fishing contests and his role in WWII. Visit a DAY CARE CENTER to interact with the children and workers who run the program. Interaction with CUBAN INSTITUTE OF MUSIC (could be jazz or vocal group – discuss their training, where they perform, how they get their instruments, famous musical groups in Cuba and around the world)Dinner will be on your own. The evening is free to see the Buena Vista Social Club, attend a baseball game (seasonal), see the famous Tropicana Night Club Show, have drinks at some of Hemingway’s old haunts, or explore Havana on own. DAY 4: APRIL 19 (TUE) – HAVANA. EXCURSION TO PINAR DEL RIO, CUBA’S LUSH TOBACCO GROWING REGION.This morning travel to Pinar del Rio. Visit to a COFFEE PLANTATION to learn the history of coffee plantations in Cuba, how it is harvested, roasted, compare to other countries that produce coffee. Visit to a TOBACCO FARM and learn about the importance of tobacco socially and economically in Cuba, how tobacco is grown, harvested, participants can try their hand at rolling a cigar, enjoy coffee with the farm owner and his family. Lunch at a local restaurant. Return to Havana dinner on your own. Evening free to see Buena Vista Social Club, attend a baseball game (seasonal), see the famous Tropicana Night Club Show, have drinks at some of Hemingway’s old haunts, or explore Havana on own. DAY 5: APRIL 20 (WED) – HAVANAAfter breakfast travel to Las Terrazas. Visit Las Terrazas NATURE RESERVE, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and take a walk with naturalist, discuss the importance of this reserve, UNESCO’s involvement, other UNESCO sites in Cuba and around the world. Visit SOROA’S ORCHID GARDEN, learn about the garden’s collection of rare flowers, how they are received, the effects recent hurricanes have had on the gardens, and plans for the future. Lunch at a local restaurant. Return to Old Havana and a visit the MUSEUM OF THE REVOLUTION, housed in the former Presidential Palace it’s largely devoted the Revolutionary war of the 1950’s. Visit to Feria Artisan a large art & craft, souvenir market, you’ll have the opportunity to speak to artists, discuss their different mediums and how

they sell their good. Dinner on your own. Evening free to see Buena Vista Social Club, attend a baseball game (seasonal), see the famous Tropicana Night Club Show, have drinks at some of Hemingway’s old haunts, or explore Havana on own. (B, L)

DAY 6: APRIL 21 (THU) – HAVANA – MATANZAS – VARADERO. VARADERO IS CUBA’S FAMOUS BEACH REGIONVisit JARDIN BOTANICAO, Havana’s Botanical Gardens, meet with workers and take a tour of the gardens, discuss the history of this place, how it is maintained, discuss the large collection of plants the garden has, and visit the Japanese garden. Depart for Matanzas, known as the “Athens of Cuba” for its many renowned artists and intellectuals it has produced. Photo stop at Bacunayagua Bridge, Cuba’s highest bridge with amazing views. Visit TRIOLET PHARMACY a historic pharmacy dating back to 1879 and established by a French family, the pharmacy is frozen in time, see medical instruments, recipe books, jars, bottles, discuss medical treatments, and common herbs used. Lunch at a local restaurant. Visit EDICIONES VIGIA, discuss with the workers the traditional methods used here to print and bind books – all still done by hand, and where their books are sold. Check-in to your all-inclusive hotel. This evening enjoy dinner at your hotel. (B, L, D)

DAY 7: APRIL 22 (FRI) – VARADERO. EXCURSION TO CARDENASAfter breakfast travel to Cardenas. Visit a local artists’ studios, discuss the various types of media they use, how they were educated, how they make a living as artists, government sponsorship, the Americans can share information about local artists in their community, how folk art differs by region in the USA, and their own backgrounds in arts. Visit a local farm (additional details TBA) Tour and lunch at CASA DUPONT also known as Xanadu, it is the former estate of American Millionaire Irenee Dupont. Lunch is followed by a rum and cigar tasting. Return to hotel and take part in an INTERACTIVE DANCE LESSON before dinner with a local dance club, you’ll be treated to a performance and then those participants that want, can learn the basics of salsa, cha-cha, or the rumba. This evening enjoy a farewell Dinner at your hotel with music. (B, L, D)

DAY 8: APRIL 23 (SAT) – VARADERO – SANTA CLARA – MIAMI After breakfast travel to Santa Clara to catch your CHARTER FLIGHT back to Miami. Your tour ends at the Miami Airport. (B)
