2021-2022 Season Paul Keller Ensemble December 8 We celebrate the return of the Noon Concert Series with popular bassist, composer and bandleader Paul Keller. His ensembles have covered a range of jazz styles, with arrangements for groups ranging from trio to big band. For this performance of the popular Christmas Songs for Jazz Lovers show, Keller will be joined by vocalist Sarah D’Angelo, trumpeter Paul Finkbeiner, saxo- phonist Keith Kaminski, trombonist Terry Kimura, pianist Duncan McMillan and drummer David Alvarez. Barbara Ware and Friends February 9 Barbara Ware was born and raised in Detroit and music has been her language of choice since she can remember. She is not a shouter and she doesn’t scat. Instead, she chooses songs that tell a story or express a mood and delivers the lyrics with feeling and finesse, sophistication and dignity, always tempered with a sly smile and a touch of sass. Pianist Cliff Monear, bassist Kurt Krahnke and drummer Louis Jones III will join Barbara for this performance. Randy Napoleon Quartet March 9 Born in Brooklyn and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Randy Napoleon began his journey in jazz immediately after finishing his studies at the University of Michigan. He joined the Michigan State University music faculty in fall 2014. Today, Napoleon is one of the most sought-after guitarists in New York, where he is known as a forward-thinking musician with a passion for the jazz guitar tradition. Randy will be joined by Rick Roe, piano, Paul Keller, bass and David Alverez, drums. NOON @ SCHOOLCRAFT COLLEGE concerts WEDNESDAY Jazz
