The first week of Advent calls us to have Hope. During December, SEAS is focusing on the theological virtue of Hope, which ties in nicely with the beginning of Advent. To work in a school like SEAS, is to see hope for the future develop before your eyes. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with our amazing staff who are dedicated to helping everyone they teach reach their potential, our community that supports us, and our students, who are the future of our church and our community. Hope is alive and well in the halls of SEAS!

Did you attend the The Cadet and Patriot band concert Tuesday night? I’ve heard nothing but good things about the concert. We truly have one of the best band programs around. Mrs. Chandler is an awesome instructor who pushes her students to give their best. Our band program is just one of the many ways we educate the whole child at SEAS.

The Christmas Concert is next Tuesday at 6:30pm at SEAS Church. This is one of our biggest events of the year and the only one that spans Preschool to 8th grade. Due to afternoon mass, doors to the church do not open till 6:00, so please do not arrive before then. Students need to be with their teachers by 6:15.

How can we grow enrollment at SEAS School? We have a great school and, in most grade levels, we have room to grow. Our best marketing tool is you, the parent of a current student. You can help us spread the word about our amazing school by talking to other parents about SEAS. An easy way to help promote the school is to “Like” SEAS on Facebook or follow us on Twitter and then “Share” our posts. Your friends and family will see the great things we do at SEAS to help make Jesus Christ known and loved!

When are my child’s grades posted on Educate? A parent asked why their child’s grade for an assignment was not posted the next day after it was turned in. In general, assignments are posted to Educate within five school days. Anything more than five school days will be communicated by the teacher. What works for many parents is to pick a day a week that you review your child’s grades online. Contact your child’s teacher with any questions about assignments not posted after five days.

Last call for someone to help start the Early Catholic Family Life (ECFL) program at SEAS ECC. Without a school parent to help run the program, we are going to have to decline the grant. A stipend and training is provided. The benefit of this program is a stronger Catholic community and increased enrollment in our programs. The concert is at church

Doors to the church will open at 6:00pm

Students should be with their teacher in the pews at 6:15pm

Students arriving before 6:15 need to remain with their family

until 6:15. Please do not let students run around the church.

Concert attire: “Sunday best”

No jeans!

Shoulders must be covered

Dresses must be an appropriate length

No high heels for safety on the risers

Your $20.00 entitles you to ALL 89 daily drawings for cash prizes.

Daily drawings take place in Feb. March, and April.

If your name is drawn, your ticket will be immediately placed back into the drum for the next drawing.

The SEAS Girls A team lost to a very physical St. Agnes Wednesday night. St. Agnes

put a ton of pressure on the girls and were able to disrupt the offense enough to score

the win. The SEAS girls played a tough defensive game holding their opponents to

only 24 points. Ella Kelly, Abby Doffing and Eva Greene all provided points for the

Patriot girls. Nicole Judge lead all rebounders with 9, but Chloe Konrady, Ella Kelly,

Abby Doffing, Eva Greene and Lilli Duncanson also all contributed to the team

total. Carlie Furlong, Taylor Parks and Emma Kelly all contributed valuable minutes in

the loss. The Patriots next game is tonight December 7th, 5:45pm at St. Ambrose.

The Boys A Team came away from St. Thomas last week with a victory in their opening

match of the season. The team came out strong, outscoring their opponent in the first

half 13 to 6 and held off a late game rally to secure the win, 26 to 22. The Patriots saw

contributions from across the team, scoring coming from 5 different players (Evan

Koenigs, Kelvin Maher, Tom Kennedy, Casey Steinmetz, and Christian Hedin) and strong

defensive execution from Dominic Shemon, Joey Helland, Tom Kleis, and Jacob Bleed.
