Patricia Freuler Ortiz, an avid art collector andformer nephrologist, has imparted the need tostrive for both artistic and scientific excellencein winemaking. To that end her Zolo winery(Agrelo, Mendoza) and Tapiz winery (SanPablo, Uco Valley) are staffed with some ofArgentina’s most passionate and successfulwine professionals and the most state-of-the-art technology. Patricia has focused her effortson creating sustainable winemaking. Inaddition to hiring one of Argentina's topwinemakers (Fabian Valenzuela) and vineyardmanagers (Carlos Correas), Patricia alsobrought on Jean Claude Berrouet (formerwinemaker at Petrus) as consultingwinemaker.

Her Zolo and Tapiz wines are two of the topselling and critically-acclaimed Argentinebrands in the U.S. and each include Top 100Wines of the Year. In 2017 Patricia and herteam became pioneers with Wapisa: the onlywinery in coastal Patagonia.

Patricia is also the owner of Mendoza's toplodging and spa destination: Club Tapiz. ClubTapiz is located in an estate built in 1890surrounded by 22 acres of vineyards. Club Tapiz was declared Historical,Architectural and Tourist Heritage of the Region. Patricia is the Argentine Directorof the Wine in Moderation program.

Patricia, who lived many years in the U.S. and speaks fluent English, is one ofMendoza’s top ambassadors to the world. In 2019 she became the first femalePresident of Bodegas de Argentina.
