SUMMER EVENTS [email protected]

Summer Fun at the UCC

Though it’s summer and

things may seem quiet, the

UCC is still thriving! We have

Sunday Masses, and

throughout the summer, we may be

organizing fun events! Listen for

announcements at Mass, and come join

our VIBRANT summer community! Contact

us if there are events you’d like to see!

Meet our new UCC Secretary, Peter Tsay!

Peter Tsay graduated from UCLA in 2018 with a degree in biology.

The UCC has been his spiritual home for the past 5 years and he is

excited to serve God in this next season, joining the UCC staff in

their mission to create a welcoming space for students, alumni, and

community members to deepen their relationship with Christ. Peter

is also currently on staff for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and will

be devoting the rest of his time in that ministry as well.

Welcome Mass

We will be having a mass for all returning

and new students as well as for their

families on September 22nd at 10:30am

in the UCC chapel. There will be a greet

and meet after mass! Stay tuned for

more details!

DID YOU KNOW?

Keep an eye out during social events at school and

church

Now that your children are getting ready to

head back to school, it’s a good time to re-

familiarize yourself with the school or church

property. Keep a special lookout for any rooms

or areas where supervision is low, and where a

predator could take a child without being

noticed. During school events, these are the

places to watch. You should also take note of

any locked doors, areas under bleachers or in

stairwells, or anywhere else suspicious. Child

safety should be a priority for all events. Learn

more from the VIRTUS® article “Premises

Safety… Always a High Priority” at http://

www.la-archdiocese.org/org/protecting/Pages/

VIRTUS-Current-Online-Articles.aspx.

With most students returning to their home

parishes during the summer, we depend

more upon your generosity to help meet

our needs, especially since weekly

collections have been low.
