Pasindu Wanigarathne and Verane Peiris, the best friends from Ohio, USA received the President’s Award for Educational Excellence at the end of the 2012-13 school year. Pasindu (On leſt) finished 5th grade at Greentown Intermediate School and is 11- years- old. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys playing basketball. He was named the MVP (Most Valuable Player) of his team. He also plays viola for the school orchestra and enjoys doing a lot of volunteer work for his school. Verane (on right) is also 11- years-old and finished 6th grade at Clo- verleaf Middle School. Verane plays baseball and also has a black belt in karate. He enjoys playing the guitar. He is also an expert in solving upto a 5x5 Rubix cube. Both boys are in the school Honor Roll. e annual Prefects’ Day of Giniga- thena Primary School in the Hatton education zone was held at the school hall recently. Pasindu Wanigarathne and Verane Peiris, the best friends from Ohio, USA received the President’s Award for Educational Excellence at the end of the 2012-13 school year.
