INTRODUCTION
About us The Griffith University Medicine Society (GUMS) is the representative body for over 700 medical students studying at Griffith. Our mission is to enrich the lives of our post graduates by providing academic, social and wellbeing events as well as facilitating student attendance to seminars and conferences relevant to their specialty field of interest. We also advocate for our students on school and education committees and nationally with the Australian Medical Students Association (AMSA).
Since our establishment in 2005, several portfolios have been developed. These all work together to enhance student experience through various events and functions that GUMS hosts during the year.
A message from the President Dear Prospective Partner, Thank you for considering a partnership with GUMS. It is an exciting time to be part of GUMS with more members than ever, and strong executive and management team driving GUMS towards the biggest and best year yet in 2018! We pride ourselves on being a medical society that “punches above their weight”. We may be a relatively small society but the breadth and quality of events and initiatives we have to offer is second to none! As a past GUMS and AMSA Sponsorship Officer, I understand the importance of partnerships, which are vital for the functioning of GUMS. For those who have partnered with us before, we thank you for your ongoing support. Looking forward to working with you in 2018. Nicole Georgiadis GUMS President 2018
