SMART TUG ENERGYMANAGEMENT SYSTEM (STEMS)

Smart Tug Energy Management Systemis designed, built by NAVTEK NAVAL TECH-NOLOGIES with the objective of optimizingelectric power consumption of the electrictug and extending its driving range.

The goal was to conceive a energyefficient electric tug, capable of managingits energy and reach on longer distances…

STEMS is a software that directs to feasi-bly work condition the operator, by analyz-ing the operation profile andenvironment.

We offer the Smart Tug Energy Manage-ment System (STEMS) solution to optimizeyour charging infrastructure by efficientlymonitoring, managing and adjusting theenergy consumption.

The software monitors Zeetug perfor-mance via on-board data acquisitionsystem. It tracks; tug speed, motor speed,power consumption, battery-motor tem-perature and battery state of charge (SOC)etc. and gives feedback in terms of sug-gested actions to the captain.

QUICK CHARGE STATION (QCS)

Charging ZEETUG is a simple process! You simply plug ZEETUG into a charger that is connected to the Quick Charge Station.

Quick Charge Station can charge a ZEETUG-30 battery in less than 1 hour.

Technically, it supplies 2 ISU (IGBT supply unit) with 500 VAc voltage coming from 1,25 MVA transformer.

HISTORY

1970’sMr. Vejdi ÖZEK, MSc Naval Architect, began working on design and consultancy in Istanbul, in 1977. His first project was a “1000DWT Product Tanker”, the success whichlead his design to a high demand. Consequently, he designed several general cargo vessels for the Turkish coaster fleet.

1980’sIn the early 80’s he entered the ship building supply industry and made a name for himself by building hatch covers, cranes and steering gears for various general cargo vessels.

1990’sIn the early 1990’s he expanded his initiatives by consulting the shipyards as technical consultant, solution partner and project manager. As a result of this growth NAVTEKNAVAL TECHNOLOGIES INC. was founded in 1999. All projects undertaken by Mr. Özek continued coming to life with NAVTEK. NAVTEK designed various general cargo vessels,multipurpose vessels as well as chemical tankers.

2000’s*2008, NAVTEK put more emphasis on the energy and defense industries and then became the designer of the very first POWERSHIP in the World. Several power ships andfloating power plants were designed for Karadeniz Powership in the following years. These vessels are serving in Iraq, Pakistan, Lebanon, Ghana and Indonesia.

*2013, NAVTEK’s portfolio grew to include Naval vessels such as the current flag ship of Turkish Navy’s landing fleet, the world’s biggest landing ship tank (LST).

*2015, NAVTEK has designed one of the world’s most advanced science ship VIRAZON II and with the distinction of being the first archaeological research vessel in Turkey.

*2016, Kıran Holding (TK TUZLA Shipyard) acquired the majority of NAVTEK’s shares, resulting a considerable financial and technical leap.

*2019-…, NAVTEK designed and delivered (built) world’s first zero emission tugboat ‘ZEETUG’.

• Powership®, is the name given to a barge or ship mounted fully integratedfloating power plants. They deliver fast track, utility size & grade power plants,with no completion or construction risk, ready for power supply directly into thetransmission network from its onboard high-voltage substation.

• NAVTEK NAVAL TECHNOLOGIES is the first company in the world to developPowerships® for KARADENİZ ENERGY GROUP. The Powership fleet is designed andbuilt utilizing dual fuel engine technology, operated in combined cycle mode atmaximum efficiencies. With fuel flexibility through HFO, Natural Gas or LNG theyensure the lowest cost of delivered power with no capital outlay for the client.

• The concept of “Powership” is not only attributed to its game-changingtechnology but it also gives name to the Brand and has become the companytrademark since 2010 as a unique engineering phenomenon.

• In line with its vision of global expansion, Karadeniz Energy Group startedbuilding its first Powership® floating power plant fleet in 2009. Under the projecttitle of “Power of Friendship” and as part of midrange commercial deals, wesupply electricity to countries that have urgent power needs. The group’s energyship fleet is continuing to expand. Since 2010, 15 Powerships have beencompleted with total installed capacity exceeding 3,000 MW. Additional 5,000 MWof 18 Powerships are either under construction or in the pipeline.

• Capacities of Powerships change between 30 and 620 MW. To createelectricity, they use primarily HFO, Natural Gas and LNG. With delivery timesstarting from 90 days, under 3 to 10-year contracts, they provide short to longterm solutions to countries with urgent power needs. Compared to all the otherenergy solutions that have such short delivery times, our Powership solution hasthe lowest cost. Moreover, it is more efficient and economical than the groundelectrical power plants that are either currently operational or under construction,in many countries.

• VIRAZON II is an Underwater Archaeological ResearchBoat, which NAVTEK NAVAL TECHNOLOGIES has designedand built for the INA (Institute of Nautical Archeology)foundation (USA).

• Although many research vessels are used inarchaeological projects in the world's seas, VIRAZON IIwas built and classified as the first archaeologicalresearch vessel (ARV / Archaeological Research Vessel) inthe World.

• Virazon II, which has the capacity to take part in theMediterranean and longer underwater projects, is 25meters long and 8 meters wide. VIRAZON II is capable toaccommodate 19 researchers. Pressure Chamber for 2people, underwater pneumatic cleaning device up to 40 mdepth, weight lifting device from A-Frame underwaterwith 4.5 t capacity, suitable for ROV and researchsubmarine operation, equipped with underwater acousticscanning systems (side scan and perpendicular scansonars), which has a special head form that will make lessoscillation (head-stern hitting) when it receives headwaves in underwater survey mode.
