Objectives
Establish student teams Identify the responsibilities of different
positions (jobs) within each company

from the Student Packet. Review answers
Jobs in the Corporation
Each company will should have six employees.
Each student will hold a specific job, but is responsible for providing support in all aspects of the company.
Review the jobs from the Classified Ads (S5) and the “mottos” for each job. (next slide)
President :
Responsible for leading the team and managing the smooth operation of the company and it’s employees
Motto: “Be reasonable”
VP of Design:
Focused on leading the team in creating a quality product and an attractive design that will appeal to customers
Motto: “If you build it, they will come”
VP of Manufacturing:
Focused on leading the team in making the product as easily and inexpensively as possible
Motto: “Just make’em and ship’em out”
VP of Marketing:
Focused on leading the team in promoting the company, product or service
Motto: “Make it look good”
VP of Sales:
Focused on leading the team in making customers happy and selling lots of products
Motto: “Sell, sell, sell”
VP of Finance
Focused on leading the team in making sure all money is accounted for and the company is making a profit
Motto: “Low cost, high price”
Assigning Jobs
Students discuss their Application for Employment [Memo 3 (S7)]
Each team receives a Company Packet Groups will decide who will take on which job If there is a 5 person team, combine VP for Sales and
Marketing. If there is a 7 person team, there should be two VP’s of
Marketing. Find the Job Card (C1, C2) in the Company Packet. NEATLY print the name of the person assigned to each job.
Teamwork
Lean the “motto” for your job. Everyone say your motto out loud. Again What happens when everyone talks at the
same time? What would happen if everyone talked when
you were having a team discussion?
Teamwork and cooperation are important to success.
Employees within a strong company listen to one another and demonstrate respect towards their co-workers.
When making decisions, we must take every person’s opinion into consideration and work together to make the best decision for the company.
A Business Contract
Locate the Business Contract (C3) in the Company Packet.
Each group member MUST read, sign and date the contract.
The President is responsible for keep track of the Business Contract.
A Company Name
Each new company needs to come up with a company name.

Complete What’s in a Name (S8) in your Student Packet.
