I have learnt how to use embed codes and how to use programs like issue to transfer documents to blogger. This helped our project develop as the most important files such as the shooting script could bee seen by our cast members and they were able to go onto blogger to see if they were unsure this made sue everyone was on set onetime. I have learnt how important it is to use a flip camera for simple pieces of work that do not require a normal HD camera as it is easy to transport. By using flip camera we were able to record our primary research which largest influenced our opening sequence and were able to change and alter our work...

Throughout the whole of our coursework. We have posted production logs every week which explain and state what we did at each week of our production and the stages what we went though. The first time we used blogger was in pre production. Posting our entire PowerPoint, excel and word documents. The shooting script which was a major part of our production, By being able to use issue to convert them into files with an embed code so we were able to plan our work effectively on our blog. When we recoded our focus group.

Blogger is the only site which is free to sue and available for the teachers to see our work. Issue was used a lot in pre production as we were able to convert PowerPoint, work and excel documents into PDF files which created an embed code which we were then able to post onto blogger. 1. I Mac Thought making the graphics and uploading the draft and final version of our opening sequence

I Macs have the programs which were needed for creating our opening sequence. It is a valid piece of technology as it integrates the functions of

Due to the fact I have used an I Mac before handing how to use the I Mac was good and I developed more skills throughout the project which helped me develop more skills

I think that sometimes with copying, pasting, Downloading videos and music was slightly harder than when using a windows.

Using a Mac thought the project has enabled me to develop a wide rage of skills in very program such a live type, I movie and final Cut which were all programs that I

4. HD camera In preliminary task It gave the group a change to work our how to use and get familiar with the use of the HD camera as we have not used it before. It gave us a clear insight into how easy using the HD camera will be to use when shooting our opening sequence

I think I was able to operate the camera quite well and thought that despite it being my first time in using the camera it was relatively easy to use

Sometimes we had difficulty in playing back what we had recorded but in the end worked out how to use the playback effectively

By using this camera in the preliminary task we were able to have an insight and when shooting our opening sequence it was easier to use the camera as we already had a familiarity with using the camera.

5. I Movie. When editing the preliminary task

So were are able top put together and edit out piece of work with continuity

This was the first time using the new version of I movie I think by looking at the product we mad the preliminary task continuity editing was very good

I sometimes found it difficult on how to trip each clip to make the clip more precise and clear however after practice after a how few times I learnt how to use it

Gaining confidence with using me movie is very important as when editing our opening sequence Rianne and I were able to use it faster and it meant we were able to use techniques to create very good continuity to create

verisimilitude within our work.

editing and also creating graphics and uploading work.

have not used before.

2. Live type

In the making of the graphics of our work. It was important to create our graphics in live type as we were able to import a font which resented our themes into live type and easy type them out and expert them so they could be used onto of our opening sequence

Live type is a program which is used for graphics and it made It much easier to create the graphics rather than using fireworks which did not give it a professional finish where as when using Live type it gave the graphics a clean cut

I think that at the beginning of using live type I was very unsure however after directions from Mr Phlillipson I was more confident with using live type and it did nit take long to create all of the graphics for the opening sequence.

Due to the fact it was the first time Rianne and I were using the soft where a problem when creating out Tile graphics as we were not able to do what exactly what wanted which was for the graphics to expand from the middle and outwards. We think the effect that turned out in the end connoted the themes in the opening sequence

This was the first time I used love type and now I am confident in making graphics and also creating effects I think that if we had not used live type to create the graphics the opening sequence would not look as professional as it did and would not all look even and would not be the exact typography that we wanted.

3. Blogger Throughout the production section this helped Rianne and I keep up to date with all the work we had and also though the production it was important not to forget to update our blog.

The blog used to keep track of all our work and was the only thing we had to make sure that was completed during our production.

I think that due to the fact I knew how to use blogger

It was sometimes to keep on time with uploading a production log as we were very busy in filming.

It helped out time management and made us realise what we had accomplished. It was also useful for uploading certain things which we achieved that week in production. For example when we tried to create a track.

4 .HD camera Though the shooting of the opening sequence

Using this Hd camera integrated the microphone and video it was also very small so was easy to take to place to place as we had many locations to shoot in.

The fact that Rianne have used similar cameras before made it easy for us and we were able to use the functions and clearly shoot the sequence.

When we used the Hd camera we had a problem which was that when we instead the memory card into the camera we found that all of the recording was on the camera which meant that when we loaded the movie files onto I – movie it took slightly longer. Also we could not work out how to do a focus pull on the camera.

By using the camera we also conformed to the conventions of a British Social realism film as this is the kind of camera that Film 4 used and also here I think I am now know that there are two storages on a Hd camera and in emergency if the memory card ever runs out of memory I am able to store it on the camera

6. I movie Editing the draft opening sequence

We used I movie and we were familiar with the soft where and knew how to sue it. We also thought that it would be a quick and easy process.

I think that here by using I movie for the second time for editing purposes I think that my editing skills are much better now

-

My using I movie to create the draft version it really gave Rianne and I an insight to how and what we had to do to improve in our opening sequence which meant we had clear aims with what we had to do

Page 4: part 7 evaluation

7. You tube Up Loading the Draft opening sequence

You tube made it able for us up put our work on blogger.

Uploaded it to YouTube successfully and didn’t need any assistance.

-

I am more comfortable with using YouTube now and I think this is important as it developed my skills further on into the project I had to use it a lot.

1 .I Mac Throughout the whole of the post production.

Because it was the best piece of technology available that integrated the entire soft where that we needed in one.

I think as the project developed my skills at using the Mac has improved significantly and now I am able to use many soft where on the Mac.

At this point in the project I was very confident with using the Mac and did not think I had any un successful events with using the Mac itself.

I was not able to use the Mac fluently at the beginning of this project and now I really feel like I have learnt about the functions of the Mac and for future projects I will not have to learn much about how to use the Mac.

2. I movie Editing our opening sequence and also for editing our evaluation video dairy

Because it was the bets piece of technology to use that showed the continuity editing we needed and because we already knew how to sue it

I think that our opening sequence flows very smoothly and also the pace of which everything flows at is just as we wanted so Rianne gained a lot from using I movie

Not at all at this point in the project as we had lots of experience in using the project.

My skills of using I movie form not knowing how to use I at all from being able to create a opening sequence means I am able to transfer all the transferable skills onto the next project I will make.

3. Live Type Inserting the graphics into place and placing the video on top

Because Live type is programmed for making graphics and I just wanted to see how the placement of the graphics worked out and also we were bale to create fade in and out on the graphics to

As this was the first time we actually used live type to place the graphics on top of the opening sequence we think that the end product came out good.

Using live type to create the fade and fade outs on the credits were very time consuming and also the credits did not come up on the screen long enough and flashed on and off to quickly but we

I am now able to use live type without it being so time consuming as I haven learnt how to put the graphics on top of movie.

Live Type

Page 5: part 7 evaluation

give it a more professional finish

fixed the problem in the end.

4. Final Cut To place all the components together and render to make a final movie file & also to create a picture on picture for the evaluation.

As this integrated all of our parts together and made it able for us to make into a quick time move and upload onto YouTube. Final cut also allowed up to put a directors commentary over our opening sequence

I think Rianne and I struggled with using Final cut however we are proud of the final product which would not be able without Final cut

The rendering took very long and I think again I would not use final cut as the rendering was very time consuming and after that we found that there was lot that we had to change which we found very frustrating. Also when creating the picture on picture we tried putting in freeze frames which all appeared in the wrong places which again was very time consuming!

I know now how to create a picture in picture which integrates two function I one and also I think by using final cut it made the whole opening sequence come together and I also have learnt how to inset freeze frames which is useful for the next project as when doing evaluation of my product next time.

5. YouTube

To upload our opening sequence and evaluation

It made it possible for us to upload our work and to put it on to our blogger

All the work we wanted uploaded without problems

- We are now very fluent with using YouTube and find it very easy to upload videos

6. I Mac camera

Evaluation It was a easy and fast way of recording yourself also the video quality was very good and also the mic was good quality and saved us from the hassle of uploading the videos as we were able to edit straight onto movie

All of our evaluation joint work was video well and also of good quality and it was audible.

- we leant that the Mac has a very clear camera which is useful when evaluating as we can directly talk to our audience and insert many pictures to make it visually interesting

7. Blogger Throughout the whole of the post production.

As it was import to keep on tack with all our work till the final date.

Kept up to date with every project log from week one.

- That using a blog to create project logs keeps you organised and helps you really appreciate how much work you have achieved

Shows our progress in uploading videos on YouTube Final version of our opening sequence
