When did my family get here?(Mothers Side)

O My Grandfather on my mothers side

of the family immigrated to the

united states in the 50’s once he got

his citizenship.

O my grandmother on my mothers

side of the family immigrated over

with my grandfather once they got

married.

When did my family get here?(Mothers Side)

O My grandparents Adrian and Juana came to America during the 4th wave of immigration.

O They first moved to Inglewood, California.

When did my family get here?(Fathers side)

O My grandfather and my

grandmother on my fathers side of

the family immigrated to California in

the 60’s from Mexico.

O They both became Citizens when

the immigrant Reform and Control

Act of 1986 passed.

O My grandparents Rodolfo and Estela came to the United States during the 4th wave of immigration.

O They first moved to the megalopolis of Los Angeles California to an ethnic neighborhood with more people of the same race.

Why did my family come here(Mothers side)

O The port of entry my grandparents used was El Paso, Texas.

O cross border activities by working in the U.S. and living in Mexico is how he started before they moved over.

O A pull factor that made them immigrate over was that there was better work.

O My grandfather worked in the tertiary sector of economics.

Why did my family come here(Fathers side)

O A pull factor that made my grandparents on my fathers side immigrate was because there was better work in the U.S.

O they also wanted to live in a more urban area and a place where their kids can get a good education.

Places my family has been in the United States

O Shortly after living in El Paso, Texas my Grandparents moved to California

O pull factors that influenced them to come over was better climate, more work, and they hoped for a better education for their children.

ContinuedO while in California they followed an

immigrant ladder by moving to better places over the years

O they went from Inglewood, to south central, to Montebello, to el Monte and then finally my parents branched off and moved to chino

O After seeing that chino was a good area the rest of my family moved over because of the assimilation they felt here.

Places my family has been in the United States

O once my grandparents immigrated to California they lived in many places all over Los Angeles county for many years. They moved to wherever they could find a job.

O his immigrant ladder went back and forth before they finally got a good area in chino.

Religion

O my family on both sides where all

raised as Catholics. Although I still

am part of this religion, a lot of

members of my family are starting to

convert to other religions.

Mexican culture

O when my grandparents first moved to California they moved to an ethnic neighborhood of mainly Mexicans.

O in these neighborhoods everyone pretty much had the same culture as the people around them

Settling in the Americas

O My great great great great grandfather, Senior Ramon Camarena immigrated from Spain to Mexico on a ship.

O soon after arriving in Mexico they immigrated to San Pedro California but did not stay long and moved to El Paso, which is a port of entry to Chihuahua, Mexico in which they later moved to .
